Title: Noggit has ground splits
Post by: JarHead on July 15, 2010, 07:33:48 am
i have a quick question, when i  change the ground in noggit, like say i make a ditch or river bed, when i exit and reload there are ground splits, like holes in the ground, anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

i have another question, only part of my area in noggit has the grass colour, the rest is dark blue and i am unable to change it. how do i fix this

You need to save all adt's modified. If you modify a zone which have 2 adts, you need to save them. Remember noggit saves where "camera" is. Try to fly over the zone and save all adts ;)

Well if you always keep using the "view chunks" function( Press F7) you won't miss any adt any more.
Green is the Adt border and the red lines are for the chunks within every single adt.
For bigger builds : Keep progressing slowly and save adt for adt. If you keep working on 8 adts much time is wasted on saving adts... Finish one adt(with some saves inbetween the time your working), and there is nothing you'll have to fear.
Just go on for adt to adt.

We will integrate an Save all modified function in the future in noggit.
That will made it easier.

That will made it easier.
But then you will also have to implement a new system of adt loading.
If you move too far away (about 2-3 adts) from your modified adt wich is unsaved, your modified adt will get unloaded and all the changes are lost.

That is right.
1. way. Hold looked adts in ram.
2. Way ask if noggit should save before unload the adt.
But first we have to get out the render error.

I'm idiot  :ustupid:  I forgot save all adts. Is possible to fix this split? When I flattened ground, splits disappear but I'm afraid they are "still there". http://img-upload.ic.cz/images/847kjm615edse4ljy0gm.jpg

Nope just flattern/blur it out , and if you save the adts properly it'll be gone :)
Noggit isn't that! much fucked up =P
