Title: [Classic] [BETA]Improved Models for 1.12

So here we are, after a long term of wait you can actually see and feel azeroth from the WoD point of view. I want to say and have in mind that this is vanilla and not cataclysm or WoD. You going to see a huge number of creatures working at it 100% and some very few too 95%. My idea of retro port those models was to play vanilla that i like much but i wanted some extra flavor on it since i was bored of watching again same models since then. Here is where my mod takes place and transform your game into something different. I want to say a big thanks in advance to Nanoxo first for hes early help provide me with the texture but also Mumblz that hes helping me from now on to finish the mod, Koward for his initial start and help and some people from the Modeling Community here. So enough talking lets get down to the point.

What is changed so far:

    Game Music (City/Zones music from Cataclysm and upwards)
    Creature Models (as i said the 80% is changed)
    Spell effects and animations (including Enchants)
    Spell sounds (not all spells, tho some specific got used)
    Minor world changes (like lampposts, crates etc)
    Ambient Sound (and specially the rain sound which is replaced with a more realistic one)
    Some icons in the Character Creation UI
    Some weapons (Under WiP state, only Grand Marshal and Overlords Stave at the moment)
   
Under work progress:

    Character Models
    A small creature model variation to replace
    Some weapon variations


How to install:

    Download first all 8 parts, its in a compressed rar file,
    Put it where ever you like and extract it so it will give you the patch file,
    Move the file under Data Warcraft folder, I.e : [C:WoW game folderData ],
    Delete your WDB cache folder


WARNING : In case you have Kowards patch, you dont need it anymore since i have already include it with mine. Don't rename the patch file unless you know how to do things around.

Now also i want to add that this topic to refer on things you have found. If a model is missing some textures or a bug on the model it self. Don't post things out of this topic, since im going to use it to track down what ever left behind me and didn't notice. Im aware of some things that need to be updated so im gonna do on the process.

Im unable to extract anything past part 1 from 7zip, getting errors like the file is broken etc. Also, all the patches are under the same name, do we replace the previous patch that we place in the data folder?

You need to download all the zips, then open the first zip file and extract the patch from there.

Only issue i seen so far is human females hair textures are messed up with black inside of it.

I have unfortunately forgot to remove the character models, which is in alpha state, so humans and trolls are messed up. Since im going to update this main file once more and then releases 1 or 2 patches characters will not be on since it confuses people a bit.

Thanks for people like the mod, tho the point here is people who test it to post screenshots from models that i might have missed during the process. Thats involves missing/messed up textures, weird model behavior etc etc. So i can pile all those things and fix them.

Another bug I found involves the Riding Wolves in the crossroads in the Barrens. It seems their textures are trying to display the original textures rather than the new textures.

Hey I just created this account to say this:
Awesome job man, I've dreamed with something like this. But sadly since Nostalrius died Im no longer playing on vanillas servers.
Dude if you make this for WOTLK 3.3.5 man... I'll raise a statue of you in my hometown, you will make a dream of mine come true. In my opinion wotlk is the best expansion (yeah call me casual (still is harder then wod)), If you make this for WOTLK you will make my and my friends lvling experience much more fun! And I'll personally share your Porting.

BUG REPORT :I have a bat as a hunters pet, current replacement looks damn cool, but when I have it summoned my pet makes alchemy brewing sound all the time.

Night Elf fly mount "wing flap sound" seems to be badly sinced

All Swift Saber textures are badly messed up. *picture attacked*

Hey mate, thanks a lot. The sabers are known missing textures that's why is messed up. For your pet situation seems weird, till now none report me such issue and saw a couple of people in my server having a bat tamed. Did you try to delete your WDB cache, it helps too.

Sorry but no. This is solely made for 1.12 clients. It cant be covert to another version, whole procedure must be done from the beginning.

Too bad. Could you at least point me on the right drection, so i can do at least some of the stuff myself? I've tried converting a few models myself, but they are invisible ingame. Maybe i will share it with the community here when i am able to do it.

You going to need tools that generally all use, like WMV, m2redux 4.61 or m2mod or spik96 tool, a 3d editor like blender or one of your desire, you might need to check some tuts also, there are plenty things here. Forums might confuse in the beginning but with some patience you will find many things. Is like i stared by checking some tutorials then gathering the tools and start to experimenting my self and slowly start to move.

I have just installed this mod, but I am encountering a lot of bugs... I don't know if I did something wrong or it's because the mod is still in beta, but my game has turned into a horror show :D :D. Don't get me wrong, I don't have much experience with these kinds of things, but I am a graphics whore and I love the work that modders are doing and want to see this finished.
I have a question though. Do I need to delete the "patch-2.MPQ" and is using a 1.12.1 client a problem?

Please, use [wimg] instead of just [img].

Those tiger mount textures look like you have just switched body and armor textures with each other.

No you dont have to delete the patch-2.mpq or patch.mpq since you are going to delete whole game. Yes some models arent finished as you post here, its because is still beta and still working some of them and fixing some glitches and things that i might forgot or passed under me when i was creating them.
Now about the character models, since i have said it already they accidentally left inside the mod, now you can disable them and i can tell you how, its not so hard if you follow my word.
Those tiger mounts are almost ready, i need to complete their new textures so what you see now is an non complete version of them since thats the old texture. Same applies for all models that look that way, some had bug and need to be fixed, which done already and some needs to complete their new textures.

Now to disable completely the character models you have to do this, get Ladiks mpq editor, edit my patch file, on the left pane right click on characters model folder and delete them. Any attempt to delete any other creature etc, in example, might end in bad behavior or completely waste of the mod since creatures and many other files are sharing alot of things which deleting one might FUBAR something else and the mod. So that's why character models are the next update to this big mod and will be a separate thing along with the weapons that im planing to update.

If you want to post a model that you find wrong or miss behaving, have a look first in What you working for section and on my first created post called Uthils cosmetic update, there im updating the fixes and some new additions, here im using this topic to track down whats left behind.

No, cant be elevated to 2.43 or 3.3.5a . Whole procedure must be done from the beginning.

Its the best that classic can have, you have to remember this is classic, not cata not mop not wod that can support 512+ res.

Wanna give a quick update, i have started to work Frostsaber and night saber textures by my own. Tho im heavily occupied from work and cant work on the project whole time. Slowly im updating the final touches. Not going to catch tho end September as i said. Gonna take a bit more.

I have a question how did you port the player character models in the beta?
Did you backport them from scrach from wod or legion, or do you use some existing project for LK.
I try to do it my self using LK ported characters with Koward jm2libconverter, it works somehow but I have to port them to cata to be able to edit them with m2mod redux and remove the belt and glowing eyes geosets. When I backport them after that in classic it causes bugs with portrait and equipement window.

I dont use any other projects models cause you have to edit them directly in blender or maya or what ever you use as a 3d editor to remove things not necessary in the model, like the eyes geosets etc. Then i use kowards tool to downport them, tho be in mind thatthe tool its still beta and he aint gonna make any fixes in the future unless someone else wants to continue from where he stop.

It aint gonna be another release as beta anymore. I haven't update here or the second modeling forums yet since im close to final release, what ever changes did i update only Kronos forums. Im really hands full from work and dont have much time, that's why i didn't gave any updates here or the other forum as also i was slowly fixing and finalizing the mod.

You have to enable "Vertex animation shaders" under video options.

Sybsidian this the BETA topic which is kinda dead now since release is already out. Check on Signature link to lead you to the release.
