[SHOWOFF] Video Flythrough of Pandaria Island
« on: August 29, 2013, 11:41:31 am »
First I'd love to say thankyou to both Will and Gamh for their wonderful tools.  No need for images, the video is a flythrough aside from the first 10 seconds of my me talking, after that it's silent.

So Play some music and enjoy the show!

Version with Music below, but it also packs a HUGE Filesize aswell.

Misc Info from my youtube Channel:

When I say that without my parents I wouldn't be here, I am not referring to me being born or the other thing as there are perverts out there that watch my videos as well.  Not that!  Anyway back to the description.

Had to move the camera by hand because I couldn't get the waypoints to work correctly, ... So the movement is pretty jerky.  Sorry if I made anyone sick with this.

As of right now, there is no plan to release this, if in the future I do, I'll most likely put my name into every single model in someway or form, it'd be called Anthony Land. LOL.

I had to remove the music that was used in the video as they caused the video to be blocked.  And besides most people just mute these kinds of videos anyway.

If you'd like to view the version with music, you can do so at my website, though you do need a fairly strong connection, since it's 2.02GBytes and 19 minutes long, 1920x1080 resolution at 25fps.

Or you can just download it if you can't stream it.

This was made possible with the use of Gamh's 3ds/Obj to WMO Creator(the actual act is creation, not conversion as the two files' purposes and usage has completely changed where as a conversion, the usage is still the same).  And also Will's ADT Converter.

It looked almost playable in some areas. I hope someone will be able to fix the converter someday to enjoy all of pandaria in wotlk.

Either way you look at it.  The fact that if anyone were to have it in there server(not going to share mines, nor do I plan to make a server of any type.), people would still Flock to it, whether it's "playable" or not.  It's just a piece of landscape, what you make of it is what really matters.  Don't take everything for Face Value mate. ^_^.

Got the WorldMap and MiniMap working now as well.  ^_^... though the selection on the worldmap is kinda buggy still.  though I'm happy with it.

Thanks to Steff for his Minimap tutorial over at:
viewtopic.php?t=188=883

I was trying to do it like cataclysm, but as I found out from his excellent tutorial, it was Quite Different. ^_^.

Got Water working on the entire map yesterday, just didn't have time to post it.  So here it is!  Another Flythrough Video. :D

[youtube:3nrtrbmx]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP8br2YTVPU[/youtube:3nrtrbmx]

I like the water to look "Clean", so that's why it's so transparent.  I'll release it in a month probably, gave it to a few friends to test out and see if they find any areas that crash them out and what not, still need to modify the environment, I want to disable the night time, which is usually a bad idea but given that I have no lighting in my wmo's or areas, it is very dull and dark at night normally.

Thanks and yeah.. you don't want to know how long it took the whole mofo to work.   but thanks to your hardwork as well. ^_^  I've given proper credit to you where it was needed on all of my shares/showoffs.  XD.  Aside from the headaches, it was a nice learning experience as well.

Not sure I haven't actually tried to seperate them into files specific to the island since I have a few other maps that are works in progress as well that utilizes other doodads and I'm using the folder patch method rather than the MPQ method to store data.

The ADT's and the WMO data alone is about 620MB I want to say, rar'ed up, outside of an MPQ.  The filesize would be larger if it was inside of an MPQ archive.

As for the size of doodads and things to go with it, I do not know, I have various cataclysm and some mop maps in the works and they use doodads from other folders, so I have a 1.77gb mpq patch that houses various files inside of it.
