Title: [PROJECT] WarScrolls: First War
Post by: Triumph on August 08, 2015, 12:56:19 am
Hi, everyone!
I'm glad to introduce our latest work. During two months we've worked on southern part of Eastern Kingdoms and rebuilt it for our roleplaying project WarScrolls, dedicated to the events of the First War. Checkout our stuff we made.

Hope you will enjoy it:

there's good things, but try to improve your texturing 'cause it looks really bad.

I am juuust fine with texturing. I have seen much better, but also much worse, its quite OK, could be better. What I won't leave alone is terrain modelling. Its FLAT, FLAT, FLAT in those cities. Everything looks very, very flat and it doesn't look good. Height levels are far most important in a lot of environments, don't underestimate them. The last zone shown was quite good, it had 3D impression which should be seen more often. Still, terrain is not modelled there in big details at all - but it look quite good overall.

Everytime when there is new talented noggiter, he is excellent spawner and just bad terrain builder. Your model spawns are very good, I like them a lot, you definitely have what this kind of work takes - but pay more attention to your terrain, work on improving your styles and learn how to spawn on something else than one huge flat area.

This is quite good world (lets be fair, WoD models are big part of quality here, with vanilla models noone would be that much impressed). But it could be excellent. Keep it up, you are definitely on a good path.

Thank you all for your comments, guys, they are very useful for us. Our team consists of 4 people and we all started from zero in modding WoW and we have to learn many things to make this better. This is our results for only two months. So we will continue to improve our work and we'll add more videos and screenshots in the future.

Yep, I guessed it is so. These are actually quite cool results for someone, who is completely beginner, thats why I gave you credit ;). GL with improving yourself, it takes months and years, but is worth it.

Decent spawning, but I'd suggest you to work on texturing and terrain shaping more. Also I have a question. What CMS do you use for your project site?

It looks pretty good for people who are relatively new to WoW modding! The use of objects is good. But as said, see if you can improve on the terrain shaping and texturing.

Keep it up!

Hi there! Thx for your reply and advice! As for CMS, it's Drupal 7. Very adaptive and easy to work. I've been choosing between WP and Drupal, but the last one meets our needs more)

Our roleplaying server will open in few days and we want to make cool video with players and our features in it. So just wait a little bit.

I'll maybe look into it and play a bit if there are enough players. How are you going to get a good player base? As far as I know, it is really hard for russian rp servers.

We actually have such. Russian wow-rp community is old enough (6 or 7 years, don't remember), many good players are already waiting for opening. We expect regular online of 40 to 100 players every day and will be glad to see you too :)

Maybe maybe. If I have enough free time which does not seem to be possible lately. I am glad that you're expecting a good player base though.
