Title: Ragnaros2 to wotlk
Post by: sujezz on February 15, 2015, 03:03:46 am
Hello I tried porting ragnaros2 (the one from firelands) to wotlk. After a while it all looks good except for one thing it's a bit green.

When I mouseover him, he's almost normal. And I don't know what I'm missing. I checked m2 file in 010 editor and extracted every blp. Used template from 010 on skins.

Hi,

try to check in ragnaros skin, for each submesh and texturesunits

If color is set to another value than -1

did you hand convert it, or did you use mjollna's converter?

Mjollna's converter: http://www.mjollna.org/docs/misc/CataToLkM2.zip (http://www.mjollna.org/docs/misc/CataToLkM2.zip" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

EDIT:----

It could be the area he's spawned in for the un-highlighted look, such as with me:

Outland:

Shattrath:

Negrand:

He does look a bit green on my end if not highlighted when I'm in Shattrath.

I did use converter. Ragnaros2 has 4 skins while the original one has 1 or 2. Don't know how to make him use all 4 but I guess it does need them.

I haven't found any -1 values but might have accidentaly skipped.

Chances are you're just missing some textures, here is mines with all blp's that I'm using and the m2/skin file if you want to look over them, but I think you're just missing a texture to be honest.

In hellfire peninsula. I am definitely missing something.

So compare my blp's with the ones you have and see if you may have overlooked one, which I think may be the case.

Hey but on the brightside, he matches the dark portal XD

Your files work but I wasn't missing any bpl files. Any at all.

So does mine, I shouldn't have changed any files and try to put them i Ragnaros folder. After a change to dbc to ragnaros2/ragnaros2.m2 my files work perfectly.

Now just need him to work in molten core. He did spawn with broken model (or with no model) now he doesn't ;_;

That's odd, well I hope you figure out the rest eventually :) ....

Mine didn't work afterall but that's not my concern atm. When he spawns, he does that correctly from the belt up. But as soon as talking is over he pops on his legs. Don't even know what to search truth be told. But I need a way for model to have it's "stand point" moved lower. Any ideas ? Also is that because of cata grapical improvements or I need to change something more so he looks more like the one from screenshots http://www.wowhead.com/npc=52409/ragnaros (http://www.wowhead.com/npc=52409/ragnaros" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) (the whiteness on his shoulders and head.

That's a Cataclysm and higher thing.  Same thing happened when I tried to port Blackhand, the bright red orange around his neck was dulled down when brought to wotlk, and if I put it back to the newer engine with the wotlk compatible settings, it was still a dull red orange.

I'm quite sure you are just missing the red/orange outline texture that he has, the hellhound has the same.
