Hello!
I'm new here and I got a problem.
After 3 days of searching google and forums I still didn't found a way how to patch the client of 4.3.4
I'm trying to use the darker nights patch from milly which is rlly epic.
Ive got it working once but after i restarted my client it came with the archive error. I tryed to redo everything but it didn't work :(
Also ive tryed to make custom titles and change some zonenames but it never worked since the client doesnt want to use the patches.
Can somebody tell me exactly how to patch the client to fix this annoying error and make it work?
I would be rlly thankful!
Kilian

I have the same problem, i've tried almost 5 different patched exes but everytime i use a custom patch with the patched exe i get the error that says: "Cannot stream required data archives". After that my patch from the data folder vanishes..
-
I disabled WoW.mfil check and the signaturefile checks and I get the error: cannot stream the required blablabla

Sorry I'm late. This is a little known issue with 4.3.4 modding. Don't ask why, I have no idea...
Certain patches, including my patch, will destroy a Windows client. If you want to mod 4.3.4 safely you're going to have to use the Mac client, which runs 100% fine on Windows and completely eliminates the client corruption problem.
If you continue attempting to use the Windows client, it will break every single time.
Get the Mac client here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpg ... PB.torrent (http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpgjg05lbzocy/World_of_Warcraft__Cataclysm_4.3.4enGB_%2815595%29_MAC.8215428.TPB.torrent" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Also sorry this ruined your setup. But if you wanna mod 4.3.4, you're better off now.

@Milly Thanks for the reply. I've downloaded the mac version but how do i use it xD?
-
Oh right, it's missing the .exe isn't it? Well I think a regular Windows .exe works, to make matters even more confusing. Like I said, I dunno why the Windows torrent breaks, but there's something seriously wrong with it.
Try this .exe, it's already patched for you http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpg ... PB.torrent (http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpgjg05lbzocy/World_of_Warcraft__Cataclysm_4.3.4enGB_%2815595%29_MAC.8215428.TPB.torrent" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Also @Rangorn, no I'm not suggesting to play on a Mac. Just use a Mac client.

Actually... this isn't completely true. My Win 4.3.4 works fine with all patches.
Kilian, your problem was in your client. It wasn't fully downloaded, thats why it required that "archive data". It was said many times here - modding requires complete client.

Mine worked for a long while too, until one day it broke. And no matter how many times I unpacked another copy of the client, I never got it to work again. Definitely something to do with updating or incomplete data.

My client IS 100%...the patch worked once but after i restarted wow it was broken
I got that torrent but exe missing :D

I sent you an .exe, check my earlier post.

Milly :
"Try this .exe, it's already patched for you http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpg (http://www.mediafire.com/download/wlbpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) ... PB.torrent"
No exe for me in that one :O

Then you are doing something wrong.
client/Data/patch-15600 and higher value.MPQ
That's how it must look.
Btw it can also be language problem, I had it before. Patching requires same version as client. Get En client and the same En DBC for your patches.
And your new language stuff (EnGB folder) must be fully downloaded too.

Yea i got an exe now

Well the Windows client is also a torrent, so you don't just "download" these things like live patches. You get what it gives you, and what it gives you is a piece of junk that breaks every time you stick a patch in it.
The reason for why it happens is negligible. The client me and Kilian are most likely referring to is broken.

Still can't get it to work... atleas the client doesnt fuck up anymore..
Ive named the patch from 15600 to 15630 and none of it work...and 12000 worked on the windows client i remember
Im clueless :(

Here is my wow.exe, uploaded it here http://www.mediafire.com/download/10u45 ... atched.exe (http://www.mediafire.com/download/10u45gf4ut48r76/Wow_patched.exe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
We aren't telepaths here, so better make a video or some pack of screenshots with your Data folder, Login Screen, your patches (opened in MPQ editor) and I'll try to check that stuff.

For Cataclysm patches, typically you'll want to place them in your Data/Cache folder. It doesn't read properly from the Data folder alone. So go into the Cache and replace SoundCache-Patch-15595.MPQ.

Patches from Data folder work fine. No need in Cache folder.
I wanna see his client, I'm sure it's non-English client and this is the core of problem. I had same error too with non-English settings.
-
Patches from Data folder work fine. No need in Cache folder.
They don't work fine... It needs to either be in enUS folder or Data/Cache.
There's nothing wrong with his client either. This is normal.

As I said I had same errors when I launched patches with non-English client. Switch to English helped me.
Lets wait that guy and his answer about client language.

The 4.3.4 client doesn't read patches from the Data folder that are higher than 15595. And lower patches don't seem to work for certain things like custom items. I'm not sure how you got yours working differently but I've never heard of it.
As soon as Killan puts the patch into the Cache folder, it will work 100% as always.

Wanna bet? You'll teach me LightIntBand stuff if I'm right.

Bet what? That the SoundCache-Patch-15595.MPQ won't fix it?
Sure because I know it will.

Bet about custom patches from Data folder. So?
Ofc they must be named correct, that's why I told him to screen his folder, he might fail with patch names.
-
Ok now I'll bring some constructive stuff in this thread.
Kilian, here is the screen of my Data folder. All that stuff work fine.
So check again your patch names, they must be correct.
-
Im redownloading the client atm so it doesnt work for me now
Gonna send screenshot when its 100% dl'ed

No, no no no, that's wrong.
I have a patch named wow-update-base-200000000, no problem with that
Be sure you have applied max limitation fix on your wow exe, you can do it manually in exe but you need the offset, you can find this on ownedcore, stoneharry thread.

Yeah, I was thinkin the same. It's just her wow.exe wasn't patched for that.
-
Oh, interesting. I've never heard of such a patch. I imagine that would fix Killan's issue. But Rangorn, I'm not wrong. You said it yourself that the client needs patched. So by default the 4.3.4 client cannot read patches higher than 15595.
Fortunately I've moved on from Cata though. Bullshit level over 9000...
-
yup, by default it's 15595

=> Ctrl +F : patch number limitation:
The tutorial told ya, 00 00 00 10 for limitation (10000000(hex) => 268435456(decimal))
So with this fix the maximum value for your patch is 268435456
But actually 00 00 00 10 is not the maximum value, you can increase this value a little bit more.
