Post by: Jøk3r on February 08, 2011, 10:02:31 pm
What means "Take your favourite MySQL tool ,connect to your server and open the  Worldmap_info(Aspire)."

I don't know how i could connect to my server :(

Ok forget about that at the moment.
Noggit shows my new continent but when i want to enter it, noggit crashes. Screens will follow tomorow.

log:

http://pastebin.com/JSe2ZrFy (http://pastebin.com/JSe2ZrFy" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

I have created 16 adts ("Tol Abir_0_0" to "Tol Abir_3_3")

I don't know if you still need this info but to map edit you will want to test your map edits on a server.
To do this you need a repack or a compiled core and a db.
a repack can be many different kinds of cores and db structures.
one of these cores is known as ascent or arcemu...which is now what ascent was, (as far as I know.)
if you want to just get a server up quickly and do not have much knowledge with emulators...
I would suggest using a repack... if you are planing on spawning objects in game. you will want arcemu.
but if you just want an easy quick setup, use mangos.

as for going to your db and editing what is needed...
you will need to do this only if it is arc emu as I am aware, but if you are using mangos just drag and drop the dbc into your dbc folder of your mangos core and It should register with your mpq that you have made for your adts and such...

sorry if this is not what you are looking for.
I can't help you in the way of noggit crashing.
I have not tested alot of noggit...
I have rewritten the public noggit3 to work on my comp...
If you have windows 7 and it is crashing loading the adt this could be why.
with permission from steff and other noggit devs. I will send you the noggit I am using if you are on
windows 7 64x

Also if you need further assistance with your understanding of cores and db editing, I will be glad to help you.
just shoot me a pm or add me on msn ... Serifaz@gmail.com

P.S. I would suggest if noggit will not load to use the continent creator and yias edit from cromon, until the new noggit is released.
this could be a temporary solution for the problem. just remember that the continent creator only supports 32 bit.

I hope this helped answer some questions if not just elaborate some on what it is you need :)

If you are indeed using either Windows 7 or Vista, I'd suggest running it in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Instead of uploading or sending your version, you may better want to explain where you got the source, which version you've gotten and what you have changed.

I only have noggit 3 I believe it is rev104 ...
and like I said I don't really know much about noggit... I messed around with it enough to get it somewhat working on my comp but it still crashes a lot and I can't even see the icons, haha.so I don't know that I could help a lot my little amount of knowledge.
I have no problems uploading or sending you the file... if you want but I did not do much but update the svn once I had already downloaded it and finally got the config to accept my file location.. I was having a strange bug were it wouldn't recognize my directory... or any custom adts
so I didn't know if something like that could help his problem, but I did not want to upload anything that was not in my right to upload.

mpq_libmpq.cpp:27 > Opening C:UsersWorld of WarcraftDatapatch-4.MPQ

No custom patches if you use noggit!

move this out.

I got the same problem:

Noggit shows me the new continent but crashes, as I try to open it (as I create the continent with Cromons creator. By hand, it not even shows the new continent).

There are no custom patches, I use WinXP 32 bit, Noggit3 and WoW 3.3.3a

Log will follow, just have to crash it again :)

Would be great, if someone could solve this problem, as I googled it, it seemed, that other persons got the same problem.

EDIT: Here the logs:
