[QUESTION] WMO Editing Blender
« on: April 23, 2015, 05:15:34 pm »
Hello guys, I was wondering if it is possible to remove this gate :
[attachment=0:3lnv7ef3]WoWScrnShot_042115_183129.jpg[/attachment:3lnv7ef3]

I'm not familiar with WMO editing and 3D editing in general, so is there a way to edit this part of Stormwind in Blender and re-inject the WMO ?

Thank for reading :)

If you want to take out that get, if it's an m2 doodad, you could probably use Cromon's WMO Editor.  If it isn't.. well..... blender or... nevermind, no or, just blender. because even if you use something like the OBJtoWMO file generator, you'd still have to use blender but that could lead to all sorts of hell. :lol:

Edit.. yeah it's a wmo, not an m2.... refer to skarn's suggestion

Okay I'll download the plugin/blender and I'll tell you. I forgot to tell, I'm working on a 2.4.3 version of Wow, not a 3.3.5, this way should work too, eh ?

For that wmo(stormwind.wmo), there probably isnt any difference, but for WMOs that were new in the LK expansion, it won't completely show up in BC, it won't crash or anything, it just may not render completely due to small changes that was added in LK.

@OP:
Removing the gates through hex is a bad idea.... since the gates is part of the inner hallway as I found out lol

Well, I downloaded the script and moved it to:
C:Program Files (x86)Blender FoundationBlender2.70scriptsaddons but it won't open the wmo, did I miss something ?

Edit : it works

Can you explain how you got it to work? I am having the same issue and am not so fortunate as to find how to get it to work.
