Hey!
I want to replace the current devastated Gilneas on the world map by Gilneas from the worgen starting questline. How can I achieve that? Dbc editing or renaming adts?
-
Anyone?
-
just rename adts.

just rename adts.
Ok, how do I know which adts to rename?

http://marlamin.com/minimaps/adtgrid.php (http://marlamin.com/minimaps/adtgrid.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

It doesnt work: there are no options in neither "Select a version" or "Select a version list", and when you press "Generate" it just gives the "picture not available" sign.
-
should be hack fixed.
then again the essence is: just look at the minima's. or just try. you could have been finished by just trying a day ago
-
Thanks a lot!
But I still need some help with a similar task. Replacing Gilneas is quite easy, since the adt allocation is basically same. Now I want to replace the world-map Stratholme and its outskirts with those from the Culling of Stratholme instance, and now it gets much more complicated, since adts are different. What should I do?

If ADTs have just another coordinates, you can manually rewrite their names and those coordinates and use offsetfix which is in folder with ADTAdder. By that way you simply move them in map whenever you need them.

Its not exactly that, they also are different in size..
You can see what I mean if you go to http://marlamin.com/minimaps/adtgrid.php (http://marlamin.com/minimaps/adtgrid.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) open the "Azeroth" map and find Stratholme, and then open the "StratholmCOT" map and compare.

I see. Well, thats something I can't help you with. The most simple way seems to be remaking zone in Noggit.

Yeah, but my serv is Cata so I'd have to then upconvert it all... such a pain
-
the size is irrelevant as long as the target map already had that tile

I tried replacing Hillsbrad foothills with the COT version and Tyr's hand with the version from DK starting quests. Result: weird ground textures, many buildings missing, crashes time to time.

Anyone?

Btw, I didnt do any changes to the wdt/wdl files. Is this whats causing the problem? If so, what should I do?
-
I guess the reason is that I didnt update the wdt. But when I try to, and open Azeroth.wdt via Taliis, there are just no tick boxes or anything. And "Scan folder" doesnt do anything as well.
-
Use GruulMeWDT rather than Taliis for editing WDTs, but I can't see reason why would WDT somehow affect textures on ADTs.
EDIT: I didn't say GruulMeWDT will fix your problem. Problems you have have nothing to do with WDT. This was just a note, I don't know how to help you.

I tried using GruulMe to update the wdt, but the game still crashes.
