If you run noggit under windows please don´t use any compatibility setting or try the run as admin.
This will lead to strange problems and will not fix your real one.
Known effects
Compatibility mode:
If you have set a compatibility mode to windows 7 you will not be able to add WMOs. M2s work fine but WMOs not. I have seen this on a sytem with enUS client and was able to reproduce this effect there.
Other compatibility modes can also lead to such effect.
Admin mode:
If you add a model, noggit can´t find in any MPQ it will crash. If you don´t have admin mode turned on it will simple not add the model. This can kill you much work if you havend saved before.
If noggit dont start without admin mode check:
- That the folder is not set to read only. Right click on wow main folder and select propertys. Check read only marker there.
- That you have full rights to this folder. Perhaps you ahve to reset Owner to your accoutn and THEN set access for your account in the rights secsion.

I have had that issue for months.

i had that problems yeturday but steff help me out and got it working :)

My noggit always crashes after 5-10 mins of work if the admin mode is not enabled. Yes it leads to this problem with crashes after spawning non-existing model but I just got used to having this problem. So I'm very carefull and do not do it. Noggit always crashes after reaching 3.5 GB of memory usage.
-
Thats normal as we sill do not unload the adts again.
-
No, it doesn't crash after 3.5 GB if the admin mode is enabled. It will just work two times slowlier and I will have time to save my work and reload the map again.

Wut?
I'm using SDL 1.2 for more than a year with both admin mode and compatibility mode on my Windows 7 (I use service pack 2 for Windows XP). I made about 5 fully working custom maps in it, made a lot of changes in Azeroth and never met problems. Yes, WMOs can't be added, but only through Import from txt function and only when I don't add any WMO while using copy from ctr+c and ctrl+v.
So, if you are using admin and compatibility, just simply go into some finished location, ctrl+c and ctrl+v some object (after it you can delete copy/original, place it anywhere else, leave map and go to another - it doesn't matter), then you can start importing WMOs. You have to repeat this after every new startup of noggit. Ah and just btw, once again, this is for SDL 1.2. I don't work with 1.3 yet, I want to wait until as many bugs as possible are fixed. :ugeek:
(Just one question, what do you mean here?: "If you add a model, noggit can´t find in any MPQ it will crash. If you don´t have admin mode turned on it will simple not add the model. This can kill you much work if you havend saved before." - I never encountered noggit crashes after trying to import or copy model and like I said, I use both admin and compatibility modes at once, without them my noggit doesn't even start.)

This modes dont help anything. You dont need them.
Dont use

thx
-
i was also trying some stuff but now im sure ...
- i dont have any compa./admin modes
- ima using "RunAss.exe"
through RunAas you can start your aplications with LOCAL_SYSTEM rights
and all works well for me
- "RunAss.exe is by Zezula" (Ladik Zezula is also Owner of "Ladik's MPQ Editor")
-
Again. This is only a stupid way to get noggit running if you are not able to setup right.
And it can cause Crash of noggit if you try to add models.
If it dont work aske me and dont use such solutions.
