Thanks for you Great Mod!

But I have some problems with this.

First, Human Female's faces don't change at all.
Of course, it actually changes, but the eye's look doesn't change. Only changes are just eyebrows.

[attachment=1:345c56ol]pic1.png[/attachment:345c56ol]
- cf. They are Females -

Second, some hair styles are missing.
I have checked Female Drenai's and Troll's have problem with this.
[Edit] Almost female characters have missing styles.
extra). Drenai's eyes don't grow during creating DK in creation.
But I like this version, personnally.
[attachment=0:345c56ol]pic2.png[/attachment:345c56ol]

Thanks again for this mod.

ps. Can it be race swapped?

HOW did u get that models?!    I need it Dx!!!

If i get the files... maybe yes, i could try, but right now just have the olds models. :'(!!!

And... yes, i know, so many hairstyles are broken. Why? I don't really know. Maybe it's because Wotlk dont support all the textures of the model.

but in words i can't explain it. If somebody can do it, please said him why this happen....  :?

I don't have the time to go through and port the Blood elf models for my server. Between work and server-tasks, it would rapidly consume what little time I have.

I am willing to compensate anyone who can get a pair of functional WoD blood elf models ported to 3.3.5a. $25 or so.

Yeah, you're missing the anim files for orc, draenei, and forsaken male. Also you can fix the hairstyles with some time spent in the dbc files. Just fixed it all, appreciate your work and effort.

It's missing hair textures that's why it doesnt show, so you would have to either a. reedit the models or b. Go through Charsections.dbc, I hackfixed it by removing the broken ones and replacing them with barbershop ones/working ones.

ChairHairGeosets, CharHairTextures, BarberShopStyle

OtecPolnoc,
i have uploaded the Blood Elf  male and female models for 4.3.4 cata in other thread... and  there was a nice 4.3.4 patch with all races except draenei and undead somewhere on forum.
I can understand if u can't make those RE-UV operations and converting this can be tricky,
but you must make a patch and do DBC edits by yourself... its not a big deal,
If  you can't make some simple DBC edits and copy-paste operations to MPQ files then please stop bothering other people, noone should make the whole work for you.

To make this patch complete and an actual considerable release, you will need to fix a few issues.

Firstly, human females wearing sleeves will glitch up and the texture of the ends/sleeves of their robes/shirt will quite literally change to the skin color of the model.

Secondly, blood elf male eyebrows. Nobody wants a crack-pot-mash-together patch. They're clearly untextured on some hair colors.

Third, blood elf male hairstyles are limited to basically three not-half-retarded looking ones. Perhaps you could investigate a little further into that?

To be honest, I 'm not saying any of this out of spite, but I feel like this whole release was just a quick throw-together, to be the one of the first, if not /the/ first to release these models. I highly appreciate the initiative, truly. But next time I would recommend testing your product, and making sure it's suitable for a /release/. Remember this is work that reflects on you forever. This post will be around for a very long time most likely, and on goggle. And if this patch has various bugs, people aren't going to judge the developer so fondly.

I wish you luck in fixing what you can, if you intend to!

this kind of patchs it's gonna have bugs yes or not, for the problem of the triangles. The models are there and works fine. The only problem, like everyone said.. are the missing texture. And that's is something complicated to fix. Except you do not mind sacrificing other textures

It's a great release overall and I'm thankful for it, but the missing hairstyles or animations are making it kinda.. weird to play with.

English:

The wod models will never work 100% on wotlk, for the simple reason that wotlk can't support the complexity of the wod models: this means, something must be lost in the convertion.
In the case of the crash, i have been told, but i've been unable to replicate the error.

Human race (male) have gap (seam) on neck
Blood elf male have "artefact" in mouth (and trouble with hairstyle, you know)
Have crash when Exit Game.

O, and pretty bug  :D  Tauren male is NUDE!

Yes , I have models with all hairstyles . But these have reduced their "Quality" , as I had to gradually reduce the number of polygons they possess.
I not uploaded for this detail , because I know there will be , not satisfied people .
And on the other bugs that mention above, uh, are already known . Except for the orcs female emotes, as I tried to have all animations now.

I'm not sure if you used them in the patch or modified it to boneless, but the Chinese models on at least the classic models were boneless already so you might want to check that out.

Title: Re: [Release] WOD models for 3.3.5a
Post by: Clockworkapple23 on February 27, 2015, 06:05:08 pm
The "bald" it's because the models are broken

Well, here's the thing. So many people ask me about the scourge with bones... Well, no i have it, and with the Facials and all the hairstyles.

This don't mean the model works complety. In fact, i have to Decimate all the textures with Blender for this.

I don't guarantee it work for Battlegrounds, Dungeons or Raids...

The Dwarf Male have so many problems, and for now, i don't have them all.

That's all.  :D

Just tested your latest patch and it's a great improvement over the last. For one, I don't see bald people all around me anymore haha. Noticed the dwarf and undead problems, but it's ok if you avoid those hairstyles at the moment.

A tiny bug I discovered, is that the lower part of the tabards has the drawings a bit mixed up.

All in all, it's a wonderful thing you did here! As for the slight model downgrade in the blender, it's hardly noticeable, especially when compared with the classic models. Looking forward to your updates and thanks for making this possible.

P.S. - is there any way from our end to avoid the error when closing the game?

Thank you for this amazing work ! I tried an old version of your patch and now, I can't remember how this thing works. I mean, I've copied the patch in "data" folder and once extracted dbc files, I did ctrl+c ctrl+v in my server's dbc folder.. What am I missing ?
Thank you in advance.

You can fix it simply

Learn how the system is working and stop leeching

Creatures are using Textures defined by CreatureDisplayInfoExtra so have a look on that DBC

I agree but that how ever the model is using old bakednpctextures so you would have to convert all of 15kish that wotlk uses to the new model's uv's and then get all the correct names and put them into the dbc that will fix the skin now for the hair you have to make sure all the hairs are in the charsection dbc matching with the names of the hairs in the model's folder.

As i said before: Just rename all the files, and check the charsections (Some scalps in female can have some problems with the old textures)

They go back to the regular Wotlk Models.

Any help on that would be great!

If u know how the DBC works, u can make more changes.

Whatever. all the comments about the "low quality", i think, they don't really read my post. So, i don't gonna do anything about that, because i make all this for the hairstyles lost in the change.

So, u can used this one, or the other patch withouth the hairstyles, but more "Quality".

So I understand to stop the crash-on-close, you need to remove the "_HD" from the DBC, and file names.
1 question...
There are 2 different files within the race files, one with "_HD" and one without (in your download is what I'm talking about...). How am I supposed to remove the "_HD" and expect it to work if there are files within the same directory with the same name?

I have an idea in mind on how to fix this... so I'll try it out, but meanwhile, please do reply.

Thank You.

P.S
Regardless of the crash, this is an epic release. ^^

---------
UPDATE
---------

My idea didn't work.
The idea I had in mind was to put all _HD in a subfolder within the Male or Female parent folder of the specified race. Then within the ChrSections.dbc, I would change the directory of all the _HD files, and rename them without the _HD. I would then go to the newly created subfolder within the Male/Female parent folder, and change all the _HD to without _HD.
This way, the _HD never exists.

However, this just led to the race looking like a cube... lol.

So if you have any idea how I can fix this, or if you can find 10 minutes to just upload the patch in a rar (like how you have 10 minutes to check this forum), that would amazing (of course I'm talking about the non-crashing patch).

Thank You.

---------
UPDATE
---------

I just collapsed when I thought of another idea that was really obvious on what to do and made everything I said above trash...

Anyways, I'll try what I have in mind again tomorrow... Cuz it's 8AM, I'm tired... need to sleep. ^^

------------
Still would be nice to release the working/non-crashing version, however, I can still attempt to fix it, until I do.

Hi!,
The first thing i have to say is, What an amazing work on patch-J.mpq! I was hoping it was posible!

Im really new to this as i just added the Patch-J.mpq to my data. I dont have much time to figure out all the modding by myself  so im glad you guys are here to help!
I like playing with the new patch, the only thing that is bothering me are the NPC models and the undead/dwarf male character models. Is there a way to use the old model for the previously named subjects? If so, how do i do that?!
Like i said, im really new to this so plz be gentle :D

So I downloaded the patch and tested it. No crash on exit, however there's a new problem: All the NPCs are using the new models, but also using the old textures, which is creating a SERIOUS wrapping issue.

Also, don't know if this is a problem with the conversion, but there is a seam between the human male's head, neck, and chin that's quite visible.

Beyond that, this is impressive work! I'm amazed that the new models didn't lag my client. :O

@Neunia, to get over it you need to edit the textures specified in CreatureDisplayInfoExtra.dbc (last field of every row).

For instance,

I've done some tweaking, but I couldn't figure out how to avoid the crash when exiting the game. I want two things to resolve for this patch:

1. Avoid the crashes (spoils any change made in that session of the game)
2. Patch to affect only players, not NPCs

How can I avoid the crashes? Just remove the _HD from all lines, or there's something more to it?

Also, what files and their content do I need to edit in order for the models to be loaded only for players?

I couldn't find any DBC editor that can be user friendly, or have a proper search feature (so if you could pinpoint me to the right direction, that would be awesome).

Looking forward for your answers in order to jump in and tweak some more and get results this time.

@Neunia

Convert the textures specified in CreatureDisplayInfoExtra.dbc to png (using BLPConverter6 / BLPConverter8).
Install photoshop if you don't have it.
Then use this in photoshop (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9378).

OR

See this thread (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=10037) if you don't wanna do that for every texture. :)

Title: Re: [Release] WOD models for 3.3.5a
Post by: Amaroth on December 31, 2015, 10:40:22 am
Neunia: If you are not sure where to get those textures, all humanoid NPC textures can be found in Textures/BakedNPCTextures/ folder. Just use WoW Model Viewer for exporting them as PNG, edit them like Roarl said and then convert them back to BLP using BLiPster or BLPConverter and place your edited versions into Textures/BakedNPCTextures/ in your custom MPQ.

Korsyo: Its not (entirely) correct that models used for players are (only) at rows 54-60. Gnomes and trolls are around 160 if memory serves me well, BEs are 2208 and 2209 and draenei also somewhere above 2000. ChrRaces.dbc specifies which displayIDs are used for players, so if you are not sure about something, you can also check that DBC, however, do not change those displayIDs, as far as I know it can cause some crashes because of hardcoded/interface content. Even if that would be not a case, just follow what Roarl wrote here.

About DBC Editor, I have been using MyDBCEditor all the time and it nearly never disappointed me. There are a few of DBC which can't be edited by that editor because it either can't open them or corrupts them a little bit, such DBCs need to be edited by other ways, but it does just fine and is noob-friendly just enough. You need to clickl like idiot all the time there, no key binds or anything like that, so its rather unpleasant tool to work with when you have a lot of work to be done, but it does its job well-enough.

There is also DBCUtil and now new DB2/DBC <-> CSV convert (not yet tested by me) for converting DBCs to CSV. CSV is standart format which can be edited in some editors and can also be imported into MySQL as database table, which means you can work with that much better than with stupid DBC, but you need to convert everything back to DBCs in order to test it and make it work, so it has its own drawback too.

Thank you for the help Roarl and Amaroth. I was able to make some modifications with success, but I got stuck at something. In CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc, I managed to change the model id's from row 49 to 60. Question is, where do I find the rows for trolls, gnomes, bloodelves and draenei? I made the same thing as I did for 49-60, but draenei and elves have no textures now and 185, 186, 182, 183 which are for trolls and gnomes, have different values.

For example at row 182 it says the following:
182   47   0   0   1   255   DragonSpawnSkinWhite   DragonSpawnBodySkinWhite    -1   0   0   0   0   0

And row 185 does not exist in order to modify the troll model.

IDs from CreatureModelData.dbc are NOT displayIDs for creatures/players. That displayIDs used by some playable races are same as IDs of their models is pure coincidence. IDs I marked here for you are displayIDs, so you need to go to CreatureDisplayInfo.dbc and there you will find your model IDs. Or you can open CreatureModelData.dbc and use search function in MyDBCEditor to find humanmale, humanfemale... and another models there. Hopefuly you will find correct ones by that way too.

I've properly edited now and all looks great at char selection screen. However, when I go into world, the game crashes instantly as soon as the loading screen finishes, like 90% of the time. In some areas I can roam for a bit, then it crashes. It makes a weird glitch on the screen as well (attached pic).

I can confirm that the NPCs no longer have the HD models and they are back to the old ones, but judging from that glitch, I can see it's related to them.

EDIT:
Made a new char and had the chance to explore the NPCs a little more. There is something wrong with their model...to be more exact, the hair. CreatureDisplayInfoExtra.dbc needs some changes, or what could be the cause?

Below are some comparisons

Am missing the male troll mohawk and am very new at this. Is there a key to finding the missing file or guide?

It's missing hair textures that's why it doesnt show, so you would have to either a. reedit the models or b. Go through Charsections.dbc, I hackfixed it by removing the broken ones and replacing them with barbershop ones/working ones.

ChairHairGeosets, CharHairTextures, BarberShopStyle

Am missing the male troll mohawk and am very new at this. Is there a key to finding the missing file or guide?

Thanks!

You might be missing it because it's broken and the person who made the patch decided to replace it with another hairstyle. If you're seeing the mohawk hairstyle but it's green-colored, then it probably means that you're missing the texture of the hairstyle. If someone has a perfectly working WOD MODELS 3.3.5a patch and they're willing to give you the missing textures, then you can try asking them and see if that works out for you.

Is there anyone who could guide me how to combine two MPQ files that contains different WOD models for WOTLK?

I would like to take out human, dwarf, nightelf, gnome, orc, undead, tauren, troll from warmanes MPQ and combine them with bloodelfs and draenies from Clockworkapple23 Patch J.

I can do that for you, just upload the files and give me a link.

I'm looking for the same thing 1234bosse is, and I'd love to take you up on your offer to combine the two.

Finished downloading it. I'll check the content tomorrow and see what I can do.

This would be super awesome if you could get those two models working without crashes! Thank you!

I've been checking the files and warmane's model MPQ has it's files encrypted. The other MPQ is working fine and I can open it.

Can you tell me what exactly are the problems you are experiencing and what you want me to try doing? Someone else mentioned that they'd like me to combine warmane's MPQ with the Blood Elf and Draenei models from Clockworkapple's MPQ?  Are they missing from warmane's MPQ or are they just bugged?

Some other questions: Have you tried playing the game with Clockworkapple's MPQ or is it giving you errors?
Do NPCs have HD textures or do they look ugly in game when you play on Warmane?

I don't have Warmane's Client and I can't login on Warmane to test these and find out for myself. Although you gave me the patches and I can place them inside my own client, there still might be differences between what you see and I see.

Clockwork's models cause crashes when exiting the game, and several other random crashes while playing. Goblins also appear as a lime green color.

The Warmane models work pretty well, and are only missing Bloodelves, Draenei, and the majority of Forsaken facial features and hairstyles. NPCs seem to all have the HD textures as well.

And does Clockwork's patch contain most missing Forsaken textures? Do Blood Elf, Draenei and Forsaken NPCs have HD textures as well?

Edit: Since Warmane's patch is encrypted, I'll just make a new patch containing the missing Bloodelves, Draenei and Forsaken files and hopefully that will work.

Yes, as a matter of fact I'd argue that Clockwork's patch has the superior models across the board. More Forsaken models work and the other models look better. It seems most NPCs work (Though as I said, Goblins appear as green models and so do a few dwarves.) The Forsaken NPCs look great.

If you could create a patch with all the races working and no lime green NPCs, it'd be extremely well received. There have been several forum threads on Warmane of people searching for the perfect WoD model edits and they just don't exist yet.

I might try it on my own later on since I've never done it so far. I'm just busy at the moment  with real life stuff. Anyway here's a link:

I know, since I was checking the dates on their files and most of them were quite older than the patch itself was. They probably combined Clockworkapple's patch with something else.

anarchy wow has all new models working perfectly, but its in same mpq with their login screen and other stuff which doesn't allow to use them any way you want, so if you're looking for models, try to extract them from their custom mpq patches
