Title: Why don't thread posts have the year on them?
Post by: PhilipTNG on June 16, 2014, 03:18:06 pm
I've wondered this for a long time now, though never asked anyone about it.  There have been people that have asked me about something I did in March/April of 2013 but thinking I had done it this year... and such.

At some point I decided that the year is irrelevant. Maybe, it isn't as you say. I did not really think about old threads, back then. A "2 years ago" note on such posts may be more helpful.

Yeah there have been a few times I've struggled to find the year on posts.

  • Go to ucp.php?i=prefs&mode=personal (http://modcraft.io/ucp.php?i=prefs&mode=personal" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
  • In "My date format", add Y, e.g. "d.m.Y G:i" which will come up as "16.06.2014 15:18"

Thankyou for that good sir!! ^_^ Now I don't have to lookup web crawlers to figure out the dates of things hahaha. ^_^

Yeah same here, previously I had looked up the dates on threads with google's dating system on when they may have crawled it to give me an estimated idea of how old the thread was.
