Hi
Today i would like release a pack of wmo buildings ripped from other mmo game. They are close to wow looking models, only have bit poor quality textures. maybe someone skilled with UV mapping could thexture them better. Perfect for building towns or cities. The patch-7.mpq contains also OBJ and MTL files. At this moment i have added over 20 buildings, going to add more if anybody interested.
coords to testing zone:
x 1756 y 2394 z 135

Dude, you made my day. Where did you get such nice models? Please tell me this game. And... They can be retextured without changing the UV map. Can you provide us with the OBJs or 3Ds models. I want to add the interior parts to all the buildings.
EDIT: Oh, I see they're already included. ;)

Hi Skarn
Glad you like it. Those modela are ripped from Florensia - japanese mmo, client link: http://florensia.en.alaplaya.ne (http://florensia.en.alaplaya.ne" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
models easy to rip and convert.
game files are packed into .pack files. The Dragon UnPACKer can unpack these into .nif models and .dds textures. Entire zones are 1 big .nif file, it contains everything buildings, objects, ground shape, which they are grouped in branches bulidings in buildings, objects in objects etc...
Personally am using Nifskope to work with those nif files. Using this tool i'm exporting only desired branches buildings or objects to .obj or .dae .
Then blender job. They must be resizeed up over 30 times, because in game are small like ant. :). Blender with .nif import plugin can also handle with this. The .dds texture files could be easy converted with BLPLab batch option.
Saw here many interesting objects, cool loking frigates, sloops really nice 1 mast fishing boat, harbor markets, great shipyard with pahases constructing ship. but those textures are bit worse than wow ones. just check it out :)
screens looks promising
I recommend also:
Dark age of camelot - great base of weapons, housing objects.... also .nif
oblivion - awesome structures, castles, temples, - all models are high polygon count, so better to reduce this before using in wow. generally ".nif "games are good source of models.

Stan, can I contact you somehow? Skype or something else?

Dude! Hook us up! Do these have collision? Can u maybe upload the creature nifs
an textures? I m always lookin for more stuff to add in the warcraft library. Thanks so much for the release!!

Flagg, you can make them animated in Blender. Just use of existing WoW skeletons for them.
-
heh
i didnt use creatures, those 3 screens are from real game, just posted them to show what could be used. Sorry :) just wanted to show how close to wow graphic is.
.nif format is much more complex than wow .m2, i have problem with wow m2's, so even not dreaming about converting animated models. I'm working over classic wow modding, at this moment can use only wmo made from ripped models.
sorry again :)

Stan, how can you export models with nifskope? It creates huge objs but I don't see anything in Blender.
-
Real nice.. Wish you could go inside the buildings..

I'm currently working on adding interior parts for them. However, it won't be released.
