[QUESTION] Fixing WoD broken geosets
« on: November 15, 2014, 03:23:03 pm »
Hello,

Could you please at least guide me to the right place where i can find information on fixing the broken WoD caracter model geosets.
I'm new to this... it's my second week actually.
I've tried searching about 4h on how to do this, on this forum but with no luck as of jet.
What i figured is that you can export submeshes from WMV as obj and import them into blender...then i guess you would have to replace the m2i submesh with obj submesh?
I haven't gotten that far though. How do i see the full WoD models in WMV, what is see is broken?

I think i'm very tired and my brain doesn't work properly right now, so sorry if stupid questions.

Thanks,
Shodoman

The geosets actually work fine. For Warlords of Draenor. However lower engines doesn't allow models with higher than 64k therefor these geosets will look weird. There is no way to fix them, but for a 3.3.5, 4.x.x or 5.x.x you don't need them since they're geosets only used in WOD.

Except one that doesn't work is my nigh elf female eyebrow. I know, it's strange that it only happened to me and i don't know why. It is based on the models phantomx provided, and i converted it twice but still have the same result. The eyebrow which is submesh 0 is considered geoset 59 (last) by WMV and is a pile of mixed lines  and triangles underneath my model.
Also some of the missing geosets are hair styles or horn styles which maybe i won't miss when creating a character because i can't pick the missing one, but all the npc and other players will be missing them. I saw npc with no horns, for example.

Thank you,
Shodoman
