Title: Recruiting for a small project.

Hey,

Over the past eleven months both the team and I have been working on what began as a small project. Although work was slow, the speed at which we've progressed in the last two months has overshadowed everything done in the months before.
Although we can't wait for the server to be playable, we do respect this as a fun hobby and because of this, we don't ask anyone to do more than they want or press for deadlines.

I won't go into too much detail here, but we plan on removing the vast majority of in-game content and replacing it. This includes zones, factions, achievements, some spells, reworking all of the professions, adding new dungeons, etc... Many of these things are still in the planning stage, but a good deal is starting to show up on the server as we continue development. So-far everything has been fairly lore-based, with some modifications, but we try to keep with the lore as much as we can while maintaining the freedom to do what we want in some areas. The storyline is set after WotLK and we're ignoring Cataclysm, MoP, and WoD lore for now. If you want more information about the lore and some ideas you can see my blog post here (http://valkryst.com/blog/?p=56).

We're currently finishing the first zone which only needs quests, items, and some other basic things. The next three zones are also underway, but two of them still need minor/major worldeditng work.
Hopefully the first zone will be playable within the next month, but that heavily depends on the number of quests are written up and submitted for implementation.

If you would like more information on the project you can either view our wiki here (http://valkryst.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page), or my blog here (http://valkryst.com/blog/). The wiki has a few articles, but nothing major, and my blog has various posts with screenshots from the project along with a number of development-log posts. Other than that I'll say that we're running on patch 3.3.5a with Eluna-Trinity.

If you're interested in helping out with the project, or if you'd like to ask a few questions about it, you can reach me on here or on Skype. If you don't have any of the skills below, but still want to help, then send me a message.

DBC Work:

Modeling/Texturing:

Item/Creature Creation:

In-Game Worldbuilding:

Scripting (Eluna):

Quest Writing/Proofreading:

Gameplay QA:

Examples of your previous work, for any position except for QA, are requested, but not required. Everyone on the team is able to handle a number of the tasks listed above, so you're not restricted to one role.

Looks like the glove geoset is set incorrectly there.

Bump - I've rewritten the entire OP, added in current information, and updated the positions that we're looking to fill.

We work very slowly, but things are still being worked on. We're hoping to have the basic quests, zone mobs, and whatever else we can done by Christmas. If we reach this goal I'll hand out the patch to whoever wants to hope on and we'll let people test the content that we have at that time.

There is often no activity for a few weeks, then a fair bit gets done (usually by me or my world building friend), and then back to inactivity. It would be nice to get someone who is able to come up with quest ideas and such as that is my main concern right now.

Thanks for asking.

I'll probably fix-up the post a bit by the end of the month. There isn't too too much to show off in the screenshots other than the game world, NPCs, a handful of quests and such just yet.

Currently looking for a number of people to test content. There won't be a massive amount for you to test, so the workload is quite light.

You'll usually be working with me and the other QA members to test content as it's being created and your feedback will directly affect how the game-play will work.

That's some good, impressive work.  Good luck with your project.  I love some RP so I hope it launches at some point. :D

Just updated the OP.

We're currently looking for people to test content as it's created, to come up with quest ideas, for someone to create simple doodad models, for someone to create more complex building models, and for someone who can create skins for things such as flags.

Work on the server has sped up with the help of a dedicated group of people helping it along. The first zone should hopefully be playable or nearly playable sometime within the next two months if we get a lot more quest ideas rolling in.
Work on the next three zones is starting as well, but only at the most basic level with interior designing and NPC creation.
