I was wondering if there was a way to port weapon models -- specifically the weapons and shield added to WoW to tie in with the Warcraft movie -- into WoW Model Viewer 3.3.5a so I can use them for a machinima I'm working on. If there is, could you please tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance.

So, I loaded both your patch and the character models patch. Combined, your patch seems to have fixed the bug where the improved character models patch would refuse to play the unsheathed animations. However, it had an unexpected effect on the kobolds in Northshire Valley...

this crap is in WoW files since 335 minimally
try to browse wow models sometime you may find interesting stuff
That's not the alpha model. The alpha model is wearing the helmet and has different eyeglow -- you can see it being used in the Wrathgate cinematic.

You should just release the creatures if you ask me, and save the player models/world models for later ^^ I have thought about it in first place, i mean make a release with creature models and then go for characters. Tho since im testing and updating from Legion too plus im kinda busy in my working schedule so things go a bit slow, there is also the bug with the weapons to be solved too so till now we need some patience.
I'm more than willing to be patient to see this get released. I'm keeping myself busy with Warcraft 3 at the moment anyway.

Any chance of adding Azeroth's second moon back? That was removed in 1.4 but later reinstated when Mists of Pandaria was released.

I don't think they deleted the old outfits. They don't clean their mess of unused models, trust me. Even WoW alpha models are still in Warlords of Draenor.
The line in the DBC, however, have probably changed. But if you explore old DBC and take note of the outfit display IDs you should be able to change your line in your modern game and make an old Varian/Stoutmantle or whatever. Refer to NPC creation tutorials to understand NPC DBCs if you are not sure where you should play with values. Thanks for the advice, Spik! I'll have to look into this then. Still, the current WoW Model Viewer (now in release candidate) still has a woefully incomplete NPC and items list, probably due to the CASC file system being so new. I'd still like a way to replace the old models in, say, an MOP client with the new ones for this project, at least until WoD's model viewer is more complete.

There is a model view for WoD already. You could use that. I won't be able to see an HD version of pre-Cataclysm, Sentinel Hill Gryan Stoutmantle, though. Or Deputy Willem. Because like King Varian before them, their original outfits have likely been deleted from the game files. Besides, the current WoW Model Viewer's NPC/item list is woefully incomplete.
Hence why I'm asking for a way to view the new models in the old model viewers; because those are the only ones that'll access the versions of the NPCs I'll need for my projects. well, what i suggest, get a 3.3.5a client or a 4.3.4 and download the new character model patch for the client ( can find them right here in the forums) and then try opening them up.
Did that already. Didn't work; could only use the Vanilla/TBC models. I was wondering if there was a way to work around that. And even then, I think what I'd prefer to do, is port ALL the art, NPC data, and item data from Vanilla, TBC, and Wrath into an MOP client that's been modded with the new models, so that way I'd have everything available in one spot without having to jump between viewers. I think that's what the "import MPQ" thing is for, but I'm not sure... I tried it and it wouldn't load Vanilla or TBC MPQs.

Ok, so... I've been looking around for a way to get the new character models to show up in the old model viewers (via porting) so I could make machinima PhotoShop comics set in the past, but with the new models. Unfortunately, I haven't quite been able to find any instructions for this. Does anyone know how?

I see. Well, I'll still be watching this space! Love the work done so far, though I ran across an issue regarding the Stormwind fountains and memorial plaques... where the plaques are hovering where they were placed on the original fountain models.

You mention in your to-do list that you might make brand-new tree models in Blender to replace the old ones... would you be willing to include an optional file that still has the old ones intact?

Basically what it says in the title. I'd like a login screen patch that converts the background of the 6.0.1 beta login screen (the HD remake of the Vanilla login) to 3.3.5a.No music or logo changes but maybe turning the buttons back to red. I'd also like to keep the in-game world loading screens the same. This is what I'm after, basically.

The main question's all in the title, but for a bit of background.
After trying out the Patch-J.mpq we had here, I found out that Warmane has a modified Wrath client with the new models already, and most of the issues with Patch-J there appear to have been fixed, with the added bonus of the new WoD character screen backgrounds as well as HD water (so I'm told, I haven't actually come across water in my playthrough yet as I'm still in Northshire and haven't started the Defias quests across the river yet).
However, I ran into a small issue: It looks as though they made it so that Deputy Willem is wearing his post-Wrath gear instead of the footman outfit he had worn from Vanilla through Wrath. I'd like to change that back, if possible, to keep lore intact.
