Title: [Noob] Looking for an alternative to Taliis
Post by: Dohkra on April 02, 2013, 06:16:01 pm
Hi everybody.

First i want to say that i dont speak very well english, so i hope you will understand =)
I m actually learnings how to edit maps. I m okay with noggit, but when i tried to spawn .wmo, i had this bug-map problem (no water, texture bug, blablabla). So I learnt that i have to use Taliis to spawn those .wmo. When i tried to use it, i could not use the + fonction in "Appearing Object" (after the "Object Files" step). So i learnt again that Taliis could not being use anymore.

Well, im looking now for an alternative to Taliis to spawn .wmo and .m2. I searched in many forums, but topics are getting outdated about Taliis. Im quite new on this forum, and there is a lot of terms that i dont know yet :D

Can you help me please? What should i use to spawn my .wmos and .m2 without ruin my map ? :/
(I have the entire WoWModding pack)
Thanks to you for reading me, i hope im in the right place!

You do know that Noggit got it's own Import WMO/M2 function now right?

Put the wmo/m2 route into Import.txt (In noggit folder) and spawn the object inside noggit.

Thanks to you guys for answering me so quickly. I thought that the Noggit-wmo way was too easy to be the right one xD
Okay, i know how to do this (with the text file and MV7). But my problem is still here, i still have the texture and no-water bug.

Any idea?

Okay for the water, my bad, i only read the french tutorial where part 9 about allwater is missing. Problem solved, thanks.
But i still have this bug about textures... i read your entire tuto in english Steff, and i didnt find something about that (or maybe i didnt understand it xD). And therefore, when i go on my ADT, i immediately see the map from far, like if i was flying!

Can you guys help me with that please? Or maybe just show me where i can find something about that?

Okay... dont know what MFBO is, but i found something about that in the forum.

Steff : "Just open noggit, get on this adt and select save current adt from file menu. Every time you save the adt the bug will swap on and off. So you have to save them twice."

But it doesnt seem to work for me : /
The texture bug is on my two ADTs, but this MFBO bug is only on the wmo modified one.
Im a bit lost...

You never explained what bug you are having.

As you can see on the first screen, all the textures on the floor of my two ADTs are bugged (i can see squares of different colors, etc.).

For the MFBO bug, i downloaded the "FixMFBO.rar" from Kelno, but it didnt work (i extracted it in my noggit's fold and openned the .exe).

I dont know why, but i dont have any bugs (the texture bug and the MFBO) when im working on an azeroth's ADTs. That strange... those bugs seems to be related with Northend no?

Still have those bugs :/

About the MFBO issue, did you drag the adt's in the exe? Just running the exe wont fix Noggit itself.
(I realize this was really lacking instructions so I added some in the topic and in the archive)

About textures, I hardly think you can recover them at this point, and I'm not aware of any tools that would allow you to copy textures from the original adt's. Maybe I could help you later with this if you didn't find any solutions soon :>

Thanks for the answer Kelno, but i couldnt fixe it :/
I draged the adt in the .exe as you told me, but nothing changed, still have this camera bug when i create the patch and go on my ADT in game.

About textures, i dont need to recover them, those were only tests. But the problem is that even if i touch one single tree on a northrend ADT (if i delete one tree by example), then save, and start noggit again, my ADT's textures are bugged.

I really dont understand, because that never happend on azeroth's ADTs. Maybe i should uninstall everything and install again. I dont know, my server core might be bugged (it's a repack), no?

The reason is the WDT having a flag indicating a different layer compression. Noggit should handle that properly. Which version are you using? Deleting a tree has nothing to do with it.

The server has _nothing_ to do with it. WHy should it?!

Im using NoggitSDL 1.2.
Deleting a tree was just an example. If i do only one single change on a northrend ADT, textures go crazy.

I have the same issue...Northrend and Cataclysm Azeroth uses a different texturing method.
Noggit simply cannot handle it atm. I would suggest editing something elsewhere, or retexturing all of Northrend.
