Is there any way to convert .fbx model file to .m2 with animations ?

Because no one ever made a tool to convert the FBX format to the M2 format. It requires quite advanced knowledge and there are very few people out there who could even start such a task.

And none will do it for free but if we should have tool that would have as result format M2 with anims suppoerted best way should be M3 to M2 since we have M3 I/O scripts by Flo and as i already worked with such tool you need only few blender lessons and you cna made model with anims ... also Hots model and Starcraft would be possible to convert then too that would be huge content twist if realised

iv seen toons of modds in Starcraft2 that were using fully animated models from WoW

Can we please come back from involving money all the time? Pretty much all resources you use are free, and nobody who is investigating file formats or is writing tools is paid. It seems like the only people getting paid are those using the public information or tools for lazy people.
Or to put it the other way around: If someone does a fbx to m2 converter, it will almost definitely be for free.

We do not have it on pxr, that's usually where I look first. However, in all honesty, it's probably because m3 is not used on wow (yet ?). Good stuff though.
What schlumpf said though. Money should not the primary aspect for modding nowadays, but that's my opinion.

Ok then i will not mention money next time but try to get someone who is gona do it for free in most of times modders do tools to make their job easier not our but theirs "its just lucky that our job is same as theirs so they share it"

if you want purely do M2s with anims best way is i guess to make I/O scripts for blender for example and we are done - making anims / armature / mesh is all quetly easy and i can asure you that blender can handle all possibilities of M2 - and here we are back again just bring me someone who can actualy do it i have no idea about python otherwise i would do it already

IMO the hard thing is not reading M2 & M3 (or MDX), it's the matching between structures. How is a given M2 feature called in the M3 doc.
