This is a workaround I thought of when I was doing the cape wings. I'm kind of shocked that others hadn't figured out this solution yet, sure it's not perfect and it only affects ingame but still.... I only started doing the cape display 3 days ago, ask Soldan or PhantomX if you think I'm lying lol. Anyways a handful of others have done this prior to me and somehow I find it hard to believe they didn't explore it further?
That said, soldan's going to do something borderline WTF in a few days. watch out for it!!

Cool, reminds me of monk styled belts. Though you said yours is on the character model, you didn't show if it could be unequipped or if it could have different faces. But job well done mate. Color me impressed ^_^

it's not part of the character geoset. Works off the same idea as how the legendary wings are done among other things, like the wings and horns on this video:

I believe Vortalex is working on a tutorial to explain to people how to produce this.

Yes it can be unequipped. Yes it can have different faces. Yes I can do it your style too like the wings are. Remember, that video was back in February and was proof of concept. I developed it further than that video shows. It's merely what I had readily available.

Offtopic, but is their a spell that does the big purple/green wings?
But anyway, speaking of belts, this would be a great time for people to look into how to do the PHYS belts, especially with the rope one I saw above. I think physic objects should be our next step into modding. How cool would that be to add physics to any model.

The wings came in WoD, so if you're using something before it, you'd have to add a spell to your setup as well as the model files to your Installation client.

That's a mechanic that came in MoP, there isn't a handler for that in Cata/WoTLK.
How cool would that be to add physics to any model.
Though I do share your enthusiasm, that would be pretty damn gnarly!!

indeed I did, just haven't seen anyone show it off before., well one guy that did it on the normal chest attach in the visualkit but used wowmodelviewer to spit out an obj, change the position of the mesh, and then garthog's tool to make it into an m2 and did a belt that way but that moved funny when the character moved around as you could imagine.
Anyway Did all the belts, lost interest now, moving onto something else again XD. Alls well, seems some folks are getting around to finally making tutorials for it now. Saves me from having to do one as well hehehe.

I did only one just for testing with new auras because im doing new visuals for spells but im not good at making batch scripts so mass converting for me its very hard and time-consuming... everything I know about 010 and batch scripting is from your tutorials :lol:
It would be nice to have more tutorials about mass converting things from other expansions.

I probably won't be doing any videos on mass grabbing things because the concept and solution for doing it in mass usually comes to mind to just about anyone who learns how to do it individually And then gets completely annoyed with doing it one by one XD. The next phase after smashing your head into the mental wall of being annoyed is the answer in doing it in mass, no matter how stupid it sounds at first lol.
But I'll probably make more hint videos to give others an idea of where to start, and been thinking of simple 010 editor scripting videos.

could you post here what spell are you using for belts ? i guess it must be using some bone somewhere between hips of model ?
well yeah ... in generaly ... dont you know spell that can spawn model on head and hands too ?
im may too lazy to create VisualKit for it lawl .. so im trig to find some spell that is actualy working as i need

Well, great work on this belts but if it is really just a spell then it is nothing hard to do for others, I think if you'll make a tutorial about that then many people will be able not only make belts, they'll be able to do things as on Alastor's screenshot.

About that. It is not very hard to do the fully custom visual kit for spell from 0. It took less than a hour when I tried to do it first time. There is my strange representation of that which can help you.

With those dbcs you can set your own aura effect, point which it has to be attached, the effect of appearance and many others. I hope it will motivate you to be not so lazy about very usefull things :D (don't give a shit about numbers on this picture, I used them to remind things I did long time ago)

Yeah, I was experimenting with this concept (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=7683&p=35068) some months ago, but I never understand how to choose an specific place to attach the model; I just edit the m2 file and move it, then export it, and locate it by "trial and error".
If someone could tell me where and how choose this point, It would be great.

The only problem with that method is that the model is not moving, but that's not a great problem x)

A question now : how i coul adapt the mantle for all races ? I shoul recreat a new m2 with adapt for all races in blender or there's a trick ?

I'd say to get thrall and just remove his model and just leave the robe in m2i then export it to m2i convert to m2 keep the animations for it if it has some which I think it might then do what you did with the one in the screenshots and in theory it should work with at least an idle animation.
There is a trick to make it move with you but for the life of me I can't remember right now.

That I'm aware of the only way for a spell to be visible on character selection is if it's using an attachment like a weapon enchant.
Besides that I don't think there's another way.

Was it really Neccessary to Quote the entire post from Shelldon and Alastor when you don't even interact with their posts in your comment? Anyway Only person who has come close to doing proper 3D belts seems to be Kojak488, no one else has really shown an actual method for doing proper 3D Belts. So you could try to ask him for advice.
