I recorded our kittens play fighting 2 years ago and had wanted to make a SF2 style edit on it but from work and reality, I just couldn't squeeze it into my schedule until now. Took ~18 hours to throw this together, various reasons.

These are Kittens that my sister retrieved from the neighbor's yard one morning due to either their parents abandoning the brood or they passed away, this was taken almost 2 years ago, We don't have them anymore.

Super Bar is a Tug-of-War idea I've had for a few decades now, figured I'd make use of the idea and save me from having to keyframe two super bars.

Okay so it's not really a way to secure an MPQ file but it's what people seem to call it, another word people use is Encrypting an MPQ, which it isn't either. We're just making an MPQ File that has no listfile on it to show other humans what is inside of the MPQ File.

This doesn't mean that it's not possible for people to still get the file/folder naming and structures of the contents inside, it just makes it a little more interesting for anyone who wants to try to "list" the MPQ file.

This is for people who already know how to insert in custom wmos into Wow. for those that don't, look over at Met@'s tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8756

Some people had asked for a guide on how I did the light thing on my previous WMO Video( ),  So I figured I'd make it anyway, as hard to understand and badly explained as it may be. It only takes 1-2 minutes normally, but when starting out, it can take a little bit longer.

This is mainly for people who enjoy seeing and tinkering with the hex data of a file, otherwise move along!! XD

Noggit / My Fix Idea for Crashes that come from Editing Blizz ADTs

Basically just about anyone who's made an edit on a blizzard ADT with Noggit 1.3 or 1.4 has noticed the eventual crash that happens when you do edits to a blizzard map adt. So I spent half my day changing stuff around until I got around the crash and here's what I came up with.

The crash can happen for multiple reasons, this is a hacky fix idea for one of the crashes that I ran into, it may not work for other people with crashes caused by something else. Also this isn't a recommended fix since I'm pretty sure it could lead to something bad in the long run XD.

"Retro-Porting" / Lol.. A Bunch of Shiny Mounts.

Well most of them are Shiny, some look like they had an Oil Bath XD. It's about 224 or so mounts, that's why the video is so long. My Helm, Shoulder and weapons are also shiny :)

My main goal for this was to re-visit my older mounts and new ones and try to get their flying animations to work properly. if anyone remembers my old stuff or have tried to port mounts before, you may have noticed that the flying animations on some of them are either wrong or use the swimming animations instead. This is because normally in LK, flying mounts can't go underwater so their swimming animation is used in the air instead.

This is a workaround I thought of when I was doing the cape wings. I'm kind of shocked that others hadn't figured out this solution yet, sure it's not perfect and it only affects ingame but still.... I only started doing the cape display 3 days ago, ask Soldan or PhantomX if you think I'm lying lol.  Anyways a handful of others have done this prior to me and somehow I find it hard to believe they didn't explore it further?

That said, soldan's going to do something borderline WTF in a few days. watch out for it!!

I figured I'd show this here instead of posting it in the random thread.  In Cata and LK, there's two dbc files called LightFloatBand and LightIntBand, these two files were merged into a single file in MoP and WoD.  For quite a while now, ever since Will put out his 5.0.5 to 3.3.5 ADT Down Converter(April 2013), I've asked around if anyone was able to figure out how to convert the LightData.dbc data into the older data for use with the Int and Float dbc files.

A lot of people said it wasn't possible, and some others that are much smarter than me said it may be possible but if you did, it'd be very incomplete...... so I took that as fact and didn't bother with it again for 2 years lol.

I started seriously thinking about it again 3 weeks ago, because some of my friends had brought up the subject again but for their own custom maps they've made in Noggit, Sure they could up-port their ADT's to MoP and WoD, but they can't do their Environment Lighting, then I started thinking about my WoD ADT to LK/Cata ports and how empty they "feel" because of the lack of the intended environment settings.

So to figure out how to up-port the LightInt and LightFloat to LightData, I figured I should probably start by trying to figure out how to downport first, then when that's settled, I'll look into Up Porting. After about 4 days of crushing my variable amount of braincells I have left on this dilemma, I managed to get it working.

So below are Screenshots of the Wandering Isle Pandaren Start Zone in both my Cataclysm 4.0.6a and Draenor 6.0.3 game clients.  For those that don't pay attention to blizzcon events, MoP had it's Lighting algorithm and Texture Rendering systems overhauled as well as being able to use more tileset layers I believe, secondly Tilesets can be scaled and WMOs are able to deform and borrow the textures the terrain's Tilesets. I'll post videos and times to the 2011 blizzcon event where they talk and demonstrate this in more detail.

Hope there's actually someone that reads through this instead of just looking at the images, then comments about it and being completely off topic.  Since LK's Light Data is pretty much the same, it'd look like the Cataclysm screenshots for the most part minus the Water and Beefier Anti-Aliasing.

I'm giving out my tools I've made over the years because I'm starting to get into that way of thinking where people become annoying trolls because of misplaced pride in the fact that they know something that a handful of others don't so they like to poke fun and insult others with lesser knowledge.  So to get away from that mindset, I'm putting this out.

It's not much to most people, and to many they wouldn't even consider it a tool since it's just Macro scripts and not something written in an actual programming language, but the fact of the matter is that it still does save a ton of time and automates a particular process versus doing it by hand.

Update(April 22, 2015):


Fixed the BLP String dumper on M2 files, and also made a version with an experimental section that'll allow it to read LK M2 files as well to dump blp/particlem2 strings.

0.004vi = fixed blp dumper on m2 files so less chance of getting missing blp and green objects.
0.004vie = Experimental, has 4vi update plus an edit to allow it to work on (proper) LK m2 files.

Updated the WMO converter to fix WoD garrisons and a few MoP WMOs as well, It's not fully tested yet but seems to work fairly well so far. , Thanks to Kranimal for his inputs.

While making documentation for my ADT Downporter, I did this map as a test to figure out what needed to be fixed and updated in my systems, so for anyone that cares, I had to update both the ADT and WMO porting scripts, that said the 0.003 wmo script won't be able to port this raid wmo.

My previous patch for the Tanaam Jungle is required for this map to work and not throw you an Error.  Same directions as before, Download the patch, Put it into your Data folder, go ingame, set GM Mode On just incase, and use the Port Coords below:

Hey guys, for anyone that remember the Tagteam M2 Converter I put out 2 years ago, this is an updated version to that. It's called Tag team because first it runs the m2 files on Mjollna's CataToLK tool then it TAGs my 010 Script in and it fixes the Particles.

In the current version, I have updated the 010 Script to also fix the Texture ID on WoD M2's that have particle emitters.  All the M2 doodads used in my Tanaam Jungle Map Release were converted using this tool, you can check the map out over at: viewtopic.php?f=93&t=9101

Text Directions:


0.) You must have a working copy of 010 Editor and be able to launch the program through the cmd window by typing in 010Editor , if you are unable to do that, view my wmo converter guide on how to modify the batch file so it'll work for you:
1.) Download and extract the files to a folder somewhere, then run the BAT File, it will null out the BAT file but also make another file.
2.) Put the Cata/MoP/WoD M2 and SKIN files into the folder where you put the converter.
3.) Run the TagTeamConverter-PublicDistribution.bat , and let it finish.

I decided to re-write my wmo conversion script, 2 reasons, to speed it up where I could make it go faster and so as to release it to the general public so that all the people that send me messages to convert wmos and or how to fix a certain wmo will be able to do it themself and leave me alone lol.

A couple of my friends and peers recommended that I not share this due to the eventual rise of noobs and leechers using it and acting like they are "King Shit", but in the end, tool users and tool huggers don't ever do a whole lot anyway and what they will end up doing won't be anything new, being 2 years late to the wmoconversion game and all XD.

By default the script is set to attempt to convert a WMO from Cata/MoP/WoD to WoTLK.  If you want it to convert down to TBC(possibly 1.x as well), turn on the tbc switch on Line 13 by making it a 1.


I would recommend using atleast 010 Editor 5.0 , but it will run faster in 6.0 and newer.  Script does not work properly on 3.0 and 4.0 versions of 010 Editor.

---For LK, it fixes the wmo so that it will work in the game client and also work in Noggit, I've only tested 1.3 and 1.4.

---For TBC, it fixes the WMO so it will work in the game client as well, I do not know if it will work in Noggit as I do not have Noggit for TBC.  The WMOs may also work for 1.x as well but since I do not have that client, I have made no tests for it.

Manual Directions:


1.) Open Script up in 010 Editor.
2.) Open up WMO Files you want to convert
3.) Click on the WMO File and run the script(F7), I say Click on the File because if you don't, you can sometimes run the script on itself and possibly screw up the script and have to re-download it.

Batch Directions:


0.) Make sure you can open up 010 Editor through the cmd console application by typing in 010editor, this is required to make use of the batch script.
1.) Open up Notepad and Copy and Paste this batch code to the document: http://pastebin.com/SU9K03Gz
2.) Modify the Full_Path_To_Script_File to where you extracted the script file.
--Example: If you extracted the file to C:scripts  you would put change the fullpath text to
C:scriptswmo-converter-rebuild_003_distro.1sc

3.) Save the File somewhere as wmoconverter.bat
4.) Now place the file wherever you have your wmo files that need to be converted, run the batch file and it should go through and convert them for you.
