http://filebeam.com/729c311068cacdddc340ef141fb7f540 (http://filebeam.com/729c311068cacdddc340ef141fb7f540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

You may want to let the user select from the available LiquidTypes in the DBC.

So, you can basicly fill chunks one by one now?

Would be nice if a heightmap could be added, just sayin'.

A heightmap for water, I don't know if it's really useful, water is 99% of time a flat area. i've already worked on a heightmap for water but it's more a proof of concept than a real too.
First i need to make a interface with the sub chunk but it will need a 128*128 grid, and i don't know how to make it clear.

I actually meant a heightmap for the terrain, so you have an idea of where you place your water.

If you add a terrain heighmap to check the preview this will be a masterpiece.

This is great!

However, it would be nice if you add all the liquid types in the dbc.
Because there are different types of magma, for example, that moves in different angles and speed.

A tip:
If you run this program in Windows 7, you must run it in administration mode.

You did a great job, most regards ;)

Hey this tool is awesome! :)
Makes changing water height super easy. Thanks! :D
If you ever feel like updating it, you could add a feature to save the height settings for the adt in a different file. That way you could change the adt in noggit and don't loose the height information. ;) But nontheless, epic tool.

how do u use the water tool AllWater
Title: Re: water tool
Post by: hyakkimaru on August 30, 2012, 10:00:26 am
It's very simple.

Open your adt with allwater and noggit.

In noggit, press U. This will show your adt from above.
Don't forget to press f7, it will show the lines of the adt.

The adt is divided by every chunks, in allwater, it's the same. Each square is a chunk.

Choose the kind of water you want.

Water = river
Ocean = Ocean
Lava = ... Lava °°
Slime = the water in Undercity.

After, choose the opacity. 127 = dark water.  50 = clear water ^^.

Compare with Noggit where is your hole.
Then, "paint" on Allwater on the chunk where your hole is situated.

The height is where you will see the surface of the water. You must refer on server coordinates on Noggit, more precisely on the "Z" coordinate.

After, save your adt, add your adt in your MPQ patch and test ingame !

I hope I have helped you, my English is not perfect I'm sorry ^^'

There is a possibility to make scripts. a simple .bat file.
http://pastebin.com/tVGhSgxA (http://pastebin.com/tVGhSgxA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Don't know how, figure it out.

But keep inmind. IF you change groundeffects... delete this water again because its a litle hacked into the adt structure!
Save with noggit 1.2 and then do groundeffects work.

ahh thanks. though these MoP Converted maps do not work in noggit so that can't really be arranged, but I will do that on my regular maps for sure!  ^_^.

Hi..

When I try to run my edited adt on AllWater I get this message.

This file needs to be patched in order to work with AllWater. It will loose all water level informations

Do you really want to patch it?

Anyone know why I get this?

Thanks for any help.

Just a guess, but maybe because the file needs to be patched in order to work with AllWater?  Try clicking the yes button it gives you.  Crazy, huh?

Ya the message should read in it somewhere .. Do you want to patch it now...

It had me thinking I needed to run something more on the adt to get the allwater to work...
Thanks again, fixed my water problem nicely.

Hi everyone, Gretchin here.

I can't believe this tools is still used !
it's terribly written, and it  partially break the adt file.

I'm not playing / modding wow anymore, but if there is a lot of people asking for it, i might push some update to the tool and release it on github.

so ...
Do you want an update ?

Hell, it even works for Cataclysm+. So even if it's hacked in, it works!

Though, if you are going to update it, perhaps you could implement a 3d view of the ADT? It would be nice QOL improvement.
