Title: Wod server, but friends can't play. [SOLVED]
Post by: licren on June 13, 2017, 03:53:50 am
Hello everyone, thx for reading me, I will be quick.
I followed a guide in this forum about how to make a WOD server and everything is fine, but my friends can't log in. Even if I give the correct realm to them and all that.

I have the ports 8085 , 3724 , 8081 , 8086 opened. I made their accounts, I tested them.

I don't know what to do guys... like... I can't find the answers anywhere, this is my final card.

Can someone tell me what to do? I'm clueless. I would really apreciate it.  :)

I'm not pro but recently i did my legion 7.2 local server (i did wod back in time). So i guess if they have the good realm and everything in account creating seems nice to you i see one or two things. Did you give them a connection patched wow.exe, they need a patched exe if i'm not mistaken to connect to your server. To add more verify that they put the good address of the realmlist in their WoW/WTF/config.wtf "SET portal "XXX". It's all i can really see there. I never did real emulation.

Did you change the external IP in the database to your external fix IP or dynamic DNS name?

Did you change the the LoginREST.ExternalAddress setting in bnetserver.conf?

Hi again.

My friend has exactly the same WoW. I gave it to him.

As for reviewing the realm in my base in the database, I had done it before, because there are several guides that explain it. Still, I checked it again, just in case.

On the other hand, changing the LoginRest.ExternalAdress in the bnetserver.conf, I had not, and because of that, I proceeded. However, everything remained the same.

Any other suggestions?

Thank you all for the help you are giving me.

licren tell more info about your server and internet connection.
If you server on your PC and your friends are connected to same internet provider, he cannot connect to external IP - use local provider adress (maybe needed add custom route rule).
If you have personal external IP (on PC or on router?) check a all needed ports are opened correctly.
For testing a connection, use Teamviewer from on your friend PC.

Have you a static external internet address or a dynamic DNS configured?
Did you open the ports for your server in your local windows firewall or turn the fw off ? (don´t let it off all the time :) )
Did you port forward the server ports in your router to your local pc running the server?

Gratural:
No, my pc and my friend's are on different networks, so naturally my local ip does not work.
I am connected, directly by cable, to a router, to which I have already opened the following ports: 8085, 3724, 8081, 8086. Maybe I'm missing some important port?
Previously I opened a server of 3.3.5a (which no longer exists.), And even my friend has been able to enter, although everything applied in that version does not work for me in this one.

Steff:
I have a dynamic ip. (Although I check it regularly so that everything else is not "outdated")
In the Windows firewall I have allowed the server itself, although feeling the doubt I tried with the firewall turned off; Both on the server's pc, and on my friend's pc .; But, the result is the same.
As I told Gratural, I opened the ports on the router to which the server's pc is connected. The ports are: 8085 - 3724 - 8081 - 8086

I hope this data is helpful, and once again, many thanks for all the attention and collaboration.
