Level Design / Re: Problem with a custom Map« on: January 03, 2012, 07:42:22 pm »
Hello,
Sorry I've mislead you a little by mistake ![]() I've altered your patch-4.MPQ slightly and your world>maps. I've uploaded them both for you to download. Place patch-4.MPQ inside your data folder and the world>maps folder in your world of warcraft directory. Hope this helps. http://www.mediafire.com/?esby4mr7b4dvi4y patch-4.MPQ http://www.mediafire.com/?a8keazn1vxk17ma World>maps>adts folder 7

Hello making the assumption you have created your custom adts and wdt please check that their names are identical in the sense that if you named your zone 'testzone' that the the adts are named 'testzone_01_01.adt' and your wtd is named 'testzone.wtd'.
Next please check that you have correctly placed your DBC files in a folder called "DBFilesclient" with your Map.dbc (and your AreaTable.dbc if you have it) and placed in the directory of your Wow Folder. Finally in regards to your adts and wtds these need to be created into an MPQ (not mpq) Patch and placed in your Data folder which is found in the wow directory. To patch this correctly I would suggest you create a file on your desktop called 'patch', then create a file within that called 'World' then create a file in that called 'maps" then create another file in there of the name of your custom zone (Referring to my example - I would call this file 'testzone'). The wtd and adts are then placed into this folder and you open up MPQ Editor. Then click Operations>Build MPQ from Directory then you simply select the newly created file on your desktop called 'patch'. Then name it 'patch-4.MPQ' and place this patch into your data folder like I said previously. Hope this helps! ![]() 8
Level Design / Noggit3 Issue: Small Question« on: January 02, 2012, 02:39:51 pm »
Hey Modcraft.
In the past Noggit has placed my edited adts (i.e. Stormwind) in a Noggit Project Folder that I chose. However, I just realised that all my work that I've been doing on Pilgrims' Beginning doesn't seem to be going into the Project Files. Is this because it is a custom landzone and because of that, saves it directly to the original ADTs that I placed in my Noggit World of Warcraft folder? Any help - thanks! ![]() HerTallness 9

My method seems almost 'bad practice' and not 'official'. Thanks steff, I think I will probably have to do it serverside as 1) People can't be trusted and they will attempt to bypass such restrictions 2) Seems easier.
Steff, you're a godsend. 10
Serverside Modding / [Help Request!] Restrict races and classes« on: January 01, 2012, 06:04:10 pm »
Hello, a lot of people like to create NEW classes/races. On my server I was looking to block the following races: Orc, Tauren, Troll, Forsaken, Draenei and Night Elf. These races have a corresponding id as do their classes. If I simply deleted the appropriate class ids and race ids entries on my arcemu db so that everytime a player attempts to login they get disconnected.
This doesn't seem like the 'real' way of removing the classes and races but would it work? 11

Thanks Keta/Everyone else. Yeah the mountains at times do look a bit blocky. Will work on them a bit today. I've extended the town a lot now, spawned a graveyard and the beginnings of a market square, will upload some more screenshots when I'm close to finishing.

Double post sorry: this zone is both the beta testing area for the RP area we've limited to 20 beta testers + the GM staff who roleplay as future Lore Heroes and myself the Project Leader. It also will act as the GM hangout zone for when activity is low. It will also play a future role for the Archus Expansion.

I could post the Lore that we've written up, but we've restricted the races to High Elven, Human, Gnomes and Dwarves.
One of the main ongoing "battles" is the fight against Nature and the White. The Pilgrims, lead by the Prophets of the White will begin their Pilgrimage from the Beginning to Pilgrims' End (the custom city that I plan on building over the next few weeks). I wanted to imply this ongoing fight between the Pilgrims and the Force of Nature - that's why the starting area is slightly overrun by wildlife. Within the beginning this Lore will be taught to New Players - its quite complex, we've had many concept meetings about it at my house. This RP server doesn't follow WoW Lore but the Lore of Azalea. 15
