Working Glitchy's MES or other .3ds or .obj to M2
« on: August 09, 2013, 05:46:51 am »
Does anyone have a working download for (preferably) Glitchy's MES that has the OBJ to M2 converter?  I lost mine after a re-install of Windows and all the ones on here I can't get to work due to errors in Glitchy's MES, possibly due to the lack of an installer for it.  Additionally, I can't find a working download for the 3dstom2.exe either.

What kind of error are you getting? we need more information.

Have you installed ".Net Framework 3.5"?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

After one of the forum members at the other site found a link to the Glitchy's MES installer (http://depositfiles.com/ru/files/9pvolmkpe), I'm starting to suspect there's an issue with either the original .m2 model I'm using or the process/import/export of the .obj.  I just doubted it was that since months ago I used the same .m2 to do an edit and followed the same process as I tried to this time (askion's guide: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1808).

Original .m2: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... eM-m2.html
Original .skin: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... -skin.html
Original .blp: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... k-blp.html
Imported .3ds: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... k-3DS.html
.obj: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/4 ... k-obj.html

Looks like the issue was the .m2 importer for 3DS corrupting the model.  When I switched to my old method of loading in WOWMV, exporting as .obj, importing the obj into 3DS, then exporting the edited .obj, I was able to turn the .obj to .m2 in Glitchy's MES.

Unfortunately now there's a different error.  I can edit the z-axis.  At 0.965 it shows up in-game:

At 1.25 it shows up in-game and is a bit higher up (as expected):

At 0.95 (going lower) it just disappears!

Any ideas?
