Title: (QUESTION) Porting warmane HD patch to cata (NPC)
Post by: manupa14 on June 30, 2015, 11:36:40 pm
Hello everyone. I have my own patch with the models for cataclysm working pretty well, never did the NPCs cause that would mean too much work, of course. Now that Warmane has released this patch with NPCs working, since they already did the texture cutting job, I got the idea of getting this to work with cataclysm (at least with the NPCs that are common for both versions). However, i ran into a few problems. 1st the patch that changes everything is called patch-w (I know this partly because deleting the patch replaces all models for a cube). So here's what I find when I open the aforementioned Patch - w.

All files are called file XXXX.Format
you have all the NPC blps, m2 models for the characters, NO ANIM FILES, blps for the characters themselves, as well as some odd .xxx files that i have no idea about. So as they all have this naming its really hard to know what goes where to use in my cata patch, which leaded me to looking for the dbc, to my surprise it is nowhere to be found. I went and looked if they edited the default one in localeUS and checked creaturedisplayinfoextra and also charsections and I just found everything to be just as default. So my question is

Does anyone have an idea how does this patch exactly work or how could i know what is what? (other than opening manually ofc)

I tried going ingame and the NPCs are indeed, working
