Title: Custom camera cinematic help please
Post by: dumass on July 05, 2017, 12:12:21 pm
http://www.modcraft.io/index.php?topic=10331.msg54611#msg54611

I am trying to figure this out but I can't get it how to calculate the position coordinates because ingame the camera will be in the wrong positon.

My root (DBC) coordinates: 7167,44; 1499; 718,6

The coordinate where I want the camera to be : 7331,704; 1075,864; 396,506

What I set to the position vectors: fake9.stamp = 0000; fake9.data.d[0] = 164.264f; fake9.data.d[1] = -423.136f; fake9.data.d[2] = -322.094f;

It is very annoying.... can somebody help me please how did I calculated wrong ?

You do realize that this is something at most 4 people have done over a span of 6 years and probably only one of gen is still active, at most?

Also, since obviously your math is right, the remaining info is very little, too little to actually guess anything. What is "wrong position"? Where is the camera actually?

If you had given _any_ information, one might have been able to help you, like "what is the rotation given in the dbc?"

I already wrote once most likely reasons why any topic without answer likely doesn't have an answer yet somewhere, I will probably put it somewhere as FAQ. I have readen your post like few hours after you sent it. Do you know, why you did not get any response?

Because noone had anything useful to say. Because what you want to do noone who has readen this topic knows to do. What also sometimes happens to me personally is that I read some topic, think about responding to it, then I go and do something else, usually in real life, then I return to PC and forget that I wanted to post something.

Now, if you want to be salty childish dick about it, now you can be certain that you won't get useful answer, in case you had any reasonable chance until now. Just accept that sometimes noone knows. There are people around who have been modding WoW for over 7 (?) years. And guess what - even they don't know everything. But rest assured, the only dead thing around seems to be your self-important attitude. Getting spam of like 50 "I have readen your topic just now, and don't have any useful answer for you, I don't know" wouldn't make any difference to you anyway. Peace.

Sorry guys, I thought nobody wants to help me. I fixed my posts. But anyway Schlumpf I expected that someone recalculate the coordinates for me and it will tell the result: "Your calculated coordinates are good so i dont know what is the problem" or "you have calculated the coordinates wrong" because I dont know if I know the good way to calculate those coordinates because that tutorial is very bad.
