Title: [QUESTION] seeing finished work in WoW
Post by: graven8or on September 28, 2011, 01:00:42 am
Ok,

I have to apologize if this has been posted before and I haven't found it.

I've looked over the forums and not just this one, I understand how to extract and edit .m2 files, skins, doing geos and all that fun stuff.

One thing I don't get is - after I do the changes, how do I put the finished converted .m2 file back into say, art.mpq so I can see it in game?

you need to name your MPQ  either 4-9 or A-Z depending on what type of client you are using, such as enUS, and patch version, such as 3.3.5a...

so for example my client is enUS, so the lowest number would be right after patch-3.MPQ.
(as stated before 4-9)
so I would make mine 4 for keeping things organized.

now place your patch-4.MPQ into the patch folder. You will need to make sure the extension of the patch is .MPQ in caps.

also if you havn't cracked your client with a sigcheck remover, you will need to or your client will crash.

or as stated before look at the tutorial... it probably states things better than I did.
