General / status of Legion [7.3.5] modding and [private server]

I was away from w0w and mod for a long time but few days ago I decided to see ste progress of the mod community so I tried to login in darknestfantasyerotica  :-[ and modcraft, and both was offline  :(
darknestXXX returned online and I read from the 7.3-killed-modding-community  drama

after some search on ownedcore someone founded a solution, arctium.io first with a launcher (now deprecated) and with a binary patch, useful only for model/texture swap without dbc/db2 working correctly
on the private server status trinitycore (and forks) has support only for WotLK and Legion with a patched exe.
are trinitycore and arctium patch compatible? can db2 be modded on private server?

Hello modders!
I've a dream, modify W0W to become more modern and fast to learn an play, like a Moba (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_the_Ancients)
i want to:
1) give max 5 active skill/spell for each player (and some passive)
2 ) modify every class/race combination to become unique (hp spells stats some equip)
3 ) cap level to liv10 with small diff between levels (+5% stats each level for example)
4 ) timed equip (every magic item has a cooldown, after was destroyed/unusable, shorter for dropped items, like some weeks, longer for crafted items, like some months)
5 ) some not available race/class combinations, like dragons, demons, not playable races
6 ) every one creates his own hero, not play with thrall illidan jaina etc.
you can play in pve (quest & istance/raid) pvp (battlegrounds, arena) openworld (quest, roleplay) or conquest (spawn npc unit to conquest cities)
openworld increase reputation, pvp increase battle skill, pve help item creation and resource collecting, conquest give command skill and bonus to other 3 player mode

with wotlk i can do a lot of thing, like new spell class race maps items etc, but i was away from W0W for a long time, which client ver. is a good choise now to start editing??
for example i want pre-cata azeroth-kalimdor maps, but if wod-legion maps can be edited to be pre-cata i prefer newer clients

i've find a felfire warlock patch that modify fire warlock spell with green felfire anim&texture
now it replace normal warlock spell visual, but i need also old spell visual and new spell visual and i need to switch between these with an aura like http://www.wowhead.com/item=43361 glyph of penguin
now i can duplicate the .m2 anim with hardcoded texture and add these to spellvisual.dbc but i don't know how to switch between normal and felfire effect (i didn't understand how http://www.wowhead.com/spell=52648 aura works), can someone help me? :D

Tutorials / [TUTORIAL] installing blender 2.49b on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

new Ubuntu 12.04 supports only python 2.7 or newer and from repositories you can install only blender 2.62, but this version doersn't work with m2mod and m2i import/export plugin

to use old 2.49b blender we need to install old python2.5
we will use an external repo
open a terminal and type this line to add this new repo:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fkrull/deadsnakes

now we need to update apt list, type:

$ sudo apt-get update

now we can install old python

$ sudo apt-get install python2.5 python2.5-dev

now python2.5 is installed
download blender2.49b and extract it in a folder
32 bit http://download.blender.org/release/Ble ... 86.tar.bz2
64 bit http://download.blender.org/release/Ble ... 64.tar.bz2

run blender from extracted folder (double click on "blender" in the folder)

now you can add python scripts in .blender folder (dot folders are hidden, type Ctrl+h to show it)

i've imported tolvir model from mop and i've some problems, chrome-like texture and bugged camera (i've set it to 0 0 0 0 in hex)


how to fix it? i've redone the uvmap in blender but nothing changes

i want to extract files from speech-itIT.MPQ (new italian localization in mop) and backport all files in 3.3.5 but with mpqeditor 3.2.2 i see only a file list with .xxx extension (speech-enUS.MPQ works corretly but speech-enGB.MPQ has the same problem)
these files are encripted or what? exist another program that works with 5.0 MPQ files?

i need to create a spell like http://www.wowhead.com/spell=47457 for my worgen race, it works but value in column [111] doesn't match with creaturedisplayinfo.dbc
original spell has [111]26390 that points at 11179 in creaturedisplayinfo.dbc
i need the [111] value to point at a custom creatudedisplayinfo, but i don't want to edit 11179 displayid

Modelling and Animation / ogre model shield size

i've edited ogre and ogremage models with m2modder (pym2 corrupt the shield attachment point and model displays a floating immoble shield) and the size of the shield between models are very different
how i can change the scale on the ogre model to be bigger? ( on ogremage are too big XD ) exist a tool to fix it or how to fix it with an hex editor?

if someone want to use some models for his server he MUST share changes with community (thief not allowed :P )

male satyr, draenei skeleton
male doomguard, tauren skeleton (not complete)
male felorc (full hair/bread geosets, no eyeglow) orc skeleton
female felorc, female orc skeleton
male felblood, bloodelf skeleton (may not work, i've used a modified bloodelf model to add new textures)
female felblood, bloodelf female skeleton  (may not work, i've used a modified bloodelf model to add new textures)

ps. can someone add .m2i to attachments? i've zipped all models in a single pack

i've installed mangos 3.3.5 in a virtualbox system to do tests
i'll share with modcraft (virtual disk image is 4GB, >1GB compressed) i need to add only phpmyadmin

system is debian squeeze x86 (command line) + mysql + apache2 + mangos 3.3.5 + SD2 + UDB full configured
works in Virtrualbox OSE with bridge connection (need external dhcp server, like a router) on every hosts (win *nix macos solaris x86 & x64 etc.) on my pc is very slow (my cpu hasn't vt so it should work better on cpu with vt tecnology)
it will be useful for someone? it's a good test platform :D
