General / status of Legion [7.3.5] modding and [private server]

Hi
I was away from w0w and mod for a long time but few days ago I decided to see ste progress of the mod community so I tried to login in darknestfantasyerotica  :-[ and modcraft, and both was offline  :(
darknestXXX returned online and I read from the 7.3-killed-modding-community  drama

after some search on ownedcore someone founded a solution, arctium.io first with a launcher (now deprecated) and with a binary patch, useful only for model/texture swap without dbc/db2 working correctly
on the private server status trinitycore (and forks) has support only for WotLK and Legion with a patched exe.
are trinitycore and arctium patch compatible? can db2 be modded on private server?

Hello modders!
I've a dream, modify W0W to become more modern and fast to learn an play, like a Moba (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_the_Ancients)
i want to:
1) give max 5 active skill/spell for each player (and some passive)
2 ) modify every class/race combination to become unique (hp spells stats some equip)
3 ) cap level to liv10 with small diff between levels (+5% stats each level for example)
4 ) timed equip (every magic item has a cooldown, after was destroyed/unusable, shorter for dropped items, like some weeks, longer for crafted items, like some months)
5 ) some not available race/class combinations, like dragons, demons, not playable races
6 ) every one creates his own hero, not play with thrall illidan jaina etc.
you can play in pve (quest & istance/raid) pvp (battlegrounds, arena) openworld (quest, roleplay) or conquest (spawn npc unit to conquest cities)
openworld increase reputation, pvp increase battle skill, pve help item creation and resource collecting, conquest give command skill and bonus to other 3 player mode

with wotlk i can do a lot of thing, like new spell class race maps items etc, but i was away from W0W for a long time, which client ver. is a good choise now to start editing??
for example i want pre-cata azeroth-kalimdor maps, but if wod-legion maps can be edited to be pre-cata i prefer newer clients

you need to:
-open felblood.m2i and save horn&wings geoset in .blend format
-unload .m2i and load .blend file
-create a .m2i file from a clean model (bloodelffemale.m2 for example)
-import new .m2i on .blend, duplicate a mesh (like body) and attach on it wings&horns, save the .m2i and unload
-import .m2i and delete mesh attached to Wings&horns, change hardcodet textures and save it
-merge .m2i with original .m2 file
-edit hadrcoded textures and add a new texture for horns&wings (i've replaced DKeyeglow texture with horn&wings textures, you need to create a new hardcoded texture instead)
you can also add new hardcoded texture to model before exporting it in .m2i (if it doesn't corrupt m2 model)

you need to rebuild model on a working bloodelf model (if you're using my model I've deleted DK eyeglow and i've use dkeyeglow hardcoded texture for wings texture)

you must use blender 2.49b, newer doesn't work

you need to open command prompt (cmd on windows) and launch program with input file (your m2) ON THE SAME LINE (when you launch the program without input file you'll have this error)
if you use a M2 in a different folder (not same folder of the program) output file will be generated in the same dir on input file (i've used it on linux terminal)

il you take mesh from other model you need to rename bones to match new skeleton and save it in .blend (i make a "convertion table" and rename all bones manually)
after you can open your .blend  file and import on it .m2i, attach mesh to another esisting mesh on m2i model (to copy attributes from this mesh to imported mesh)
il you've done all correctly m2mod will merge your m2i with original m2 without problems
save a new m2i after every imported mesh, sometimes exporter corrupts m2i file, so you need to redo all the changes

sometimes m2i exporter doesn't work correctly and m2mod wasn't able to merge m2i and m2 models
you need to test every few change in m2i merging it with m2 ant test it in game
if you are importing mesh from other model remember to swap bones and delete bones that doesn't exist in m2 model (and reattach vertex to another bone)

ok but tuskarr skeleton hasn't bones to animate cape, so if you add it you can't animate correctly (you must attach it on body)
without a good tool to fix skeleton and animations it can't be fixed as a blizzlike race model :D

only way to fix it is to import mesh on another skeleton and use its animation (for example a dwarf) but you will lost all beard/hair animation

yes you can, you need to add a new spell in spell.dbc that works like bear form or metamorphosis or shadowform with different skin
you can set new shapeshift form in shapeshift.dbc http://www.wowdev.wiki/index.php ... eshift.dbc
i've used this method with my human form for worgen and it works good :D
