[Solved] Save noggit and patch edits
« on: September 10, 2011, 03:59:00 am »
Hello!

I just started trying out model edit with noggit and made a edit near deathknell and saved it. I got a saved adt file in my world/maps folder which i just packed to a MPQ file and tried to run wow and thought that: That would do the trick. Which it ofc didn't.

So what did I do wrong?

My idea of how it works.(correct me please if I'm wrong somewhere which I'm)
Since deathknell already exist in the previous patches I don't need to edit Map.dbc.
Aswell as WDT should exist since elsewise deathknell wouldn't be there.
And now since I changed only one ADT and named it to a patch-z.MPQ it would be the latest patch and the edit should show up in wow.

I appreciate your answers. :)

Do  testing and noggit in two seperated wow folders.

Is you testing wow totaly clean? No other custom patches, cleand cach?

patch-z.MPQ should work. I use the patch-4.MPQ.

MPQ IS written in uppercase?
You wrote it so but i asked again to be save on this point :)

How did you create your MPQ.

I recommend that you create a patch folder on your hd and just copy the world folder from noggit into this patch folder.
Now use MPQEdit and create the patch from this folder. So all pathes are right set. If you just add the ADT file to a patch without the right path structure it won´t work.

To create the patch from a folder just select new in MPQEdit.
In first screen set the path and name of you destination MPQ.
In the second use the option " Build the MPQ archive from a file or directory.
Select the patch directory there.
In the next steps go on with standart options set.
