Please give the forum you post your questions on some thought. This topic does not fit into Level Design Tutorials.

Hi there,
modifying the client is not pursued by german law. It does violate the EULA of World of Warcraft though.
Don't expect cops showing up at your house, as long as you don't try to make money out of your modifications.

And don't mind your english skills, there's a lot of international people here who don't count english as mother tongue. Verstehste? ;)

and what about the map.dbc
i have to extract one from the client and add my map
after that i have to share it with the adt's and wdt's so everyone can enter my map
is that legal?
is the editet map.dbc illegal to share?
or the self createt adt and wdt?
or both?
or nothing?
sry for asking again
but i need to know ^^

From what i know, editing the client violates the TOS, after that I honestly don't give a damn xD
If you want to make a custom server with custom maps and get money from it, it's a really spiky and complex question
If you want to edit it by yourself for "educational purpose" nobody's going to sue you ;)
