Hello, Filipsons. Maybe it's too late and you have already done it but you can easily do it with SharpWoW. It saves lighting colours and stuff without any bugs. I've recently created a fully custom lighting for my zone using SharpWoW. The lighting changes according to the time, so it's Blizzlike.
Examples: (still not finished, I have some problems with the fog render distance).

Thanks Cromon for this usefull editor. I hope it will help you.
P.S. Screenshots are showing only custom lighting and nothing else. The zone itself is an early alpha. So, no tips or opinions please ;)

Hello, thanks It looks very interesting, but this program do not open my custom ADTs.

Why not? What error message are you getting? Can ask Cromon to update it if there is a bug.

This tool won't open your custom adts. So, just deactivate custom patches and add the ligthing to the needed point. Then you can take your DBCs and activate patches again.
Stoneharry, the reason is pretty simple. It doesn't work with adts saved in Noggit because they don't have blizzlike structure.

That's a shame; so I guess that means it's more difficult to use SharpWoW with ADTs edited in Noggit that pertain to entirely custom maps?

I didn't even know you could use SharpWoW for lights. I do all my stuff manually through the dbc files and it works great. Probably one of the more complex modding techniques though. LightIntBand.dbc is very confusing at first.

Milly, could you help me with increasing fog render distance? It's not supported by SharpWoW, but I really need to modify it. I just don't understand where is that value and how is it stored there.
-
Yikes... Uh, you're talking about LightFloatBand.dbc which is pretty much uncharted territory. Here's what I know:
You'll need to use lightmapper to find the Light.dbc entry for your zone. Then find the value in column 8 and multiply it by 6.
So for example, Stranglethorn Vale says 26 in Column 8. Do 26 x 6 and you'll get 156. Now subtract 5, and you'll get 151. This means your range in LightFloatBand.dbc is 151-156. I found that if you go to the second line (in this case, line 152) and modify the values in columns 19-23 you can control fog distance. Put in 0 for no fog and 1 for nothing but fog.

I have all the entrys of my zone with the number 2. And I don't know which of these strings controls fog.
