Quakenet actually has an account system and plenty chan/account flags to protect you from being impersonated.The only "problem" is indeed that you can't access logs unless you're logged in 24/7. Still it's doable by using a distant server as IRC client and connecting to it via ssh - that's what i do (well, not now because irl) and it's great, but a bit overkill to only have logs
Most IRC web clients are also a horrible experience or even java based.
Anything that is not self hosted does not have a proper history and linking to accounts. I dislike using some external service, where someone random may just join with my name, being embedded into this site, suggesting actually being me.
