Heyho it is me again^^.
I worked for a lot new tilesets and some buildings textures.
All textures [just 3 or so not, they from "www.textures.com"] are edited legion textures.
Min 512*512px.
I worked with the darker nights mod from This Thread (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=7488&p=57060&hilit=darker+nights#p57060), this give the best result with this textures.
Btw it should work on all patches, from classic to legion but i cant help you to bring it work on other patches, just for wotlk.
If there some textures white or something in other patches let it me know^^.
My target here was to hold the old feeling/style with a fresher look :)

Can u give me two screenshots , one where it work and one where it ist green? :3
On some Areas i made some blp with other options to save mb, maybe they correct or the others.
If i know it i can do it from beginning in the outlands and reconvert the others.
Cause on wotlk it make no different

Some textures work on those screens and some others don't.
I also get some frequent random client crashes and 100% crash on logout!

Good news its not a format problem,
Bad news it looks like classic cant handle 1024x1024 textures.
The Client crash could be the Ram problem.

But the green texture will not dissapear with this.
Im not sure, to downscale them or just release it only for bc+(where i hope bc can handle it xD)

I got the same bugs on TBC client :(
Maybe someone will rescale those, I'm not sure it will still look good after resizing though

Hmpf bc too okeee.
I will made a little patch for them i think this would be the best.
I hope the custom patches work like in wotlk that the last overwrite tthe one before.

In 1.12, I got some strange visual in stormwind (ground and stairs) though, and some textures seams are visible in some places like here in westfall:

But this Seams was there befor my texturs too.
Not so visible couse all blurry^^.

I'm know I'm annoying cause you said you won't be fixing other versions than wotlk but this my last rant :p
there is still the strange white stairs. I think it's the light reflexion. The same thing happens on many walls in SW too :

uhm i dont know.
Its strange, cause on the top pic the thing on the bridge have an alpha layer where i could understand that is to bright but the wall in the baground have no alpha layer and the same issue.
This steps are the wall textur too and the wall on the bottom with door should have no alpha layer.

This looks amazing, I dont have any problems with it. (I am using 3.3.5a)
I think now that the ground texture looks this amazing the low res ground clutter looks like it does not fit there.
Do you think you can back-port the new high res ground clutter that was added with cataclysm and above?

Heyo my next update is online, it brings new textures to outland and special for Shattrath.
For Classic and bc users pls use the links on the top i dont do a lower res version for you yet.
I put the link here couse at the moment i cant edit, if it works on a day and i see it i will do it^^.
But i can replace the screenshot what i will do later.

Hi there, first off wanted to say great job with the mod.
It is working great with the fixes with my 1.12 client!
However I am having issues getting this to work with my 2.4.3 client, I've placed both the MPQs inside my data folder but nothing is happening when I boot up the game. I've used the 4gb patch as well and even tried a fresh install of a 2.4.3 client (currently using the one from Excalibur's website).
Am I missing something here regarding getting this to work for TBC? Do I need to edit something myself or maybe place the MPQs somewhere else?

Should I name them something else maybe? Others mentioned they got this to work on their TBC clients, so it obviously works, just need to figure out how they did it.

Heyyy update for TBC and classic.
The patch have now the right name (thx uthil^^) and the white overlay in sw/og should now gone.
I cant check all, maybe anywhere is something strange like on balsh screen post it.
But much will not happend for classi/bc from now.

I tried the patch for WOTLK. It looks awesome but which parts of the world are left untouched? sometimes there seems to be difference between old and new textures and it looks weird.
Bug :
I spawned in stormwind, fine. Then I teleported to Orgrimmar and the client crashed.
Then I relaunched and I didn't get any crash anymore. Needs more investigation or if you can provide an explanation.
By the way I use this on Linux using Wine.

Hm should not crash , just blp's.
Maybe Large Address Aware could help? But i look on tbc and the ram usage is under 400 mb^^, different from normal to mod is just 40~ mb
So i dont think that this is the problem.
I dont know it at moment.

The instruction at "0x0040CC50" referenced memory at "0x133A3C1C".
The memory could not be "read".
That's the kind of error I had once.

Finsternis, I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem.
The crash occurs when I teleport to a zone, when I load the game so it's basically when I load a big zone (with lots of your textures ?). I think increasing view distance and texture quality in the client settings should be enough to trigger a crash. Teleport to the barrens for example.
Delete the cache before maybe.
I'd like to know if other people experience this.

Wotlk get an update, with dala and some edits in old world. Im not sure when the next update come so i share this at this stand.

The tbc version made on some points wow errors wich shouldn happend anymore.
Both versions get some new textures and here and there improvements.

Is ground clutter server side stuff? I want to add more grass to Stormwind Mage Quarter :)
btw someone posted Cata+ trees here, but the game's FPS drops when I use it... if I merge it with your mod, do you think the game will be faster? (my logic: less patches -> less loading time)

nope i dont think that it would be faster.
My textures just need more vram but the trees also need more gpu power.
for faster loading a ssd could help^^

I must have missed that, do you have the link? For some reason the patch I have is missing some trees (like the Cata Elwynn Forest trees)

I use them both and they work great :) Just expect 30-40 minus FPS while playing (for example Elwynn Forest - I only get around max 27 FPS there, otherwise around 120 FPS)

As I wrote in the description, it's a miracle, but I now got 50 FPS while in Elwynn... maybe because it wasn't raining, but on the server I play on it's usually raining there all the time :')

maybe just not enough gpu power idk, the new trees have 2x texture size and maybe 2-4x more faces and that on a single tree.
Lower a bit shadow maybe help^^.
But bad fps in dala is normal ^^

I personally think, that the game is playable this way :D I used to play with your models on an older laptop and I got a constant 20-40 FPS which is nice I guess... compared to that, 22-120 is very decent haha :D
I wanted to fix the tree's textures, but the whole patch is FuckItUpd, so there's no listfile :/ I just want to lower the res a bit, so maybe I'll port them back from Cata...

I'm watching pics of your work and looks beautiful. But I'm not understanding how can I put these Texture Patchs to work with my WoW - WOTLK 3.3.5a.
What I did is copy and paste the patch files F and G to \Data folder, but when I run the game, I'm only getting NPC's with bad textures. The rest of the game.... just keeps the same as vanilla, nothing changes.
Can you or someone help me?

did you download the 'new' version of warmane's wotlk client? if so, find patch-w in the data folder and delete it, and then find patch-enUS/enGB...etc-W.mpq in the data/enUS(/enGB...etc) folder and delete that too. after that all of Finsternis's patches should work fine :)

Well i updated it a week ago but now im happy with it. V 1 and a wasnt what i wanted rly.(so i redraw the totems complete with hand and improve here and there something)
Now it looks nice, hope you like the new Thunder Bluff.

Hi - this mod looks very interesting but i cannot seem to get it to work, im currently running vanilla 1.12.1 and using Uthil's and Balsh's Patches.
I maybe missing something but do you have a detailed installation instructions i can follow and a definitive download place.
i have downloaded Patch-T.MPQ
i read in previous comments you would need to rename it to a number so i numbered it 5.
i have used the 4gb patch filer too but i keep getting this error.
i can login for about 5 seconds before i get the crash.
One thing i notice tho is that the tops of the hills on thousand needles are showing green 'fel'
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For vanilla you shold download the Bc version under the Wotlk file.
There some 1024 textures at the wotlk version,that not work on bc and lower and end in an error.

Used it on classic. The feeling is different, you should see old Orgri with new textures, even barrens have a better feeling.

Looks like you have some missing .skin files somewhere, it's most likely to do with something you missed because my Ironforge isn't experiencing these problems.

Ye what TheMetalCarrots allready said, it looks like a broken or missing skin file, but this patch here have no skin files(maybe wmo problem idk did not work with them yet).
Another patch make the issue here.

Okay here is update of both versions with a lot Nigthelf stuff, alot of textur work here and found a lot of texture mistakes on the models that i cant fix with just textur edits^^.
Also i make some areas smoother like azshara or badlands. Hope u like it

I wanted to post a problem in the textures in orgrimmar, sometimes the objects and the players appear with blackened textures, in the previous versions of this patch this did not happen, I'll leave two images of the problem

It is a bit strange that the bear AND the mounted guy are so dark, they are from creature and maybe char mod and not tileset. Also strange is that the post box one flag is normal but the other not and the chain is there but no light on it.
First i would say clear cache.
Edit: Btw look at the street sign on pic 2. I dont touch this and it looks dark too.

This is on Wotlk, I think this has to do with illumination and shadow effects that you may have altered on the map, This only happens in orgrimmar.

There are no _h stuff and the _s is just on tileset not on objects.Also the sign which i dont touch. There is anything with the light.
Icecream citadel? As like Charlie and his chocolate factory, only that the Lichking with its white delivery van and ice cream,attracts Horde and Alliance children? x'D
But no i plan there nothing, the citadel looks not so bad and northend is nicer "mapped" than the old areas.

Hey, i hope u will like my new update.
Main Theme here is Ironforge. It is darker so that it looks more like the movie. And i made some pala aura textures new, i hope you like this.
But that is not all.
Zul Gurub and Zul Farrak looking now rly cool. I also make sw here and there a bit sharper on the one side and smoother on the other xD.
I hope the new spell textures work on classic if not let it me know. so hf :)

There was a broken texture on nightelfs on the tbc/classic version. It is now fixed

I have no idea from porting models to tbc and classic.
This mod here have just edited textures, no models :).

These textures and models like the trees would look awesome in 3.3.5
The houses would not work though as they have different geometry, but their texture probably could be used to improve lots of the stock houses like all the sawmills all throughout Azeroth.

Yap here and there maybe a handfull textures.But this mod is just a textur replace mod, i edit no models or texture path´s.
If you look at the 3.3.5 buildings you will see that ally and horde start are just a creepy and a normal house with a tower (on arathi basin). :-\
Anyway they made a wonderfull job here and i like it alot thx for the videos^^.

Nope, Both already have new textures because most of them also on other objects.

Newer zones in WoW including zones that have been remade multiple times like Stormwind have some really awesome ground clutter in comparison to 3.3.5. How hard would it be to back port these as they are not like normal models from what I have seen. Does anyone have any idea how it works?
If you are up for it this could be something cool to include in this patch or in your creatures patch. The clutter doesn't necessarily have to be ported from the same area, as long as the plants look like they would fit in the zone it should be fine.

It will not work on retail.
And there was just a "soft" ban wave for some cloth mods on retail, which just switch textures. :'(

Idk, maybe linux or mac os wotlk? Then use the Tbc version.

Running on Windows, and the TBC Version does the same thing.

hm next time crash make a screen from the error maybe this help a bit.
Do you use other mods?
Crash it on the same place in game?
Or just on login screen on a special race?
