I'm trying to convert my 3ds model to mdx but the program crashes when I try to convert it. I've also tried using the CMD with 3DStoM2 but that causes the cmd to crash. Anyone else get this error?



I thought it might have been a problem with my model having a hole in it so I capped the hole. That didn't fix it. Tried subdividing my model and that didn't work either.

Hi, I'm looking for someone to point me in a direction for creating a custom modeled tabard (like the lower part). I want to make the lower part smaller and have a piece of gear that is just the lower flappy bit of the tabard. If anyone can point me in a direction to start I'd appreciate it.

Here's the finished Republic Dancer Top (Slave Girl Top but different colors). I increased the resolution to 256x128 and it looks a lot better. Added some shading to applicable areas. A little sad though because I thought 256x128 meant I could make an unsymmetrical texture which I really was looking forward to making. If anyone knows a way to make unsymmetrical textures please do tell me. I imagine it might only be possible with models but who knows?

There are a few dataminers for SWTOR who know how to pull out the models. I have no idea how they do it.

A little bit more touch ups on the top. This is probably close to finished. Minor touchups needed on the curly stuff by the collar bone. Using this as a reference instead. Much easier to see where the lines are.







My patch increases by 1 mb every time I take out the texture and put it back in. Really weird. Is it possible to make the texture higher quality? I vectorized the texture but I scale it to 128x64. Wondering if I can go over that.

Just learned how to do custom textures and made this Slave Girl Top from Star Wars. Based off this.




God, texturing is brutal.... is it possible to view the texture over a model WHILE I edit? Because it took so much trial and error to get it right because of the distortion of everything.

In MPQ, there should always be either (texturename)_u.blp OR (texturename)_f.blp and (texturename)_m.blp. So if your texture is saved as SlaveGirlUpperTorso.blp in MPQ, it won't work. You need to add that _u behind name (or _m and _f if you want to have 2 different textures for male and female characters).

About BLiPster settings, simply make sure that Clothing texture is checked for armor textures (except shoulder and head textures).

128x64 is fine for upper part of torso, for lower it should be 128x32. Or 256x128 and 256x64. Just saying, it seems you have this correct.

So I gave texturing a shot and made a 128x64 chest piece armor texture but it isn't working in-game. I added it to the dbc and my patch but something still isn't right. I think it might be the wrong type of BLP but I'm not sure what the correct settings I need to use in Blipster are.
