Title: Looking for a guide for Vanilla Wow Texture Editing
Post by: nanoxo on June 07, 2017, 05:19:06 am
Some days ago I noticed that some of the weapons on vanilla WoW appear to have a specular map, so I was wondering if it would be possible to edit other weapons and armors textures to add a specular value to their textures, I'm aware that the specular value in the vanilla wow shader is controlled by the alpha channel of the diffuse textures, so maybe adding an alpha channel to the texture of another object would allow it to show specular reflections. I want to test this but I can't seem to find any guide for vanilla wow texture editing.

Extract file, edit them and make a new patch. Same as in 335a.

I'm not sure wheter we can do that even on WotLK (or who can do that). I mean... maybe? Someone? By using something? Possibly?
