[QUESTION] Map.dbc error

(1/1)

Stroved:
Hello!

I have been trying to make my own world for a couple of days, and I have made something in Noggit I wish to see in game. When following this tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=255

I get this error:

--- Quote ---Some required *.dbc files (1 from 104) not found or not compatible:
./dbc/Map.dbc exists, and has 126 field(s) (expected 66). Extracted file might be from wrong client version or a database-update has been forgotten.
--- End quote ---

I have done this a few times but always get the same error. The issue is that I am using 3.3.5a client, and 3.3.5a server, so I am unsure why I get this error.

When extracting the Map.dbc and not editing it at all, I still get the same error, so it doesn't look to be an issue with my editing of the file, but the file itself?

I am new to all of this and would love to get into making my own stuff, but my first hurdle has me stumped! If anyone would help that would be awesome :)

You got it right. It is a problem of the file itself. You had extracted the wrong version.
In order to extract the right on you might want to have a look at this: viewtopic.php?t=98

It turns out, extracting my client's version gave the error, but using the one I downloaded, was fine. So I ended up editing that and now it works and my world is in game!

There was a difference of like 20kb between the two versions, so no idea what my client is using.

Jøk3r:
There several patches that include dbc's and also the map.dbc. you have to use the lstest one for both your server and your client.
But anyway as it works now: happy modding (:
