[QUESTION AGAIN] Model editing for wow 2.4.3
(1/2) > >>
Scynic:
Hi to everyone,
First, I apologize for my bad english, 'cause I'm french and learned it all alone.
I would like to modify some creatures to add a saddle and reins on it, to create a better mount with mobs (right now, I work on a Tallstrider).
I (think I) know that the file is a .m2 I have to extract from the COMMON.MPQ in the data folder, I did it. I'm stuck when I try to convert this old .M2 to a .M2i I should be able to open with blender.
I (think I) know how to convert it in .obj using wow model viewer (I used it to model the saddle and reins) because it seems it was the shortest way to create forms around the tallstrider.
Now, the texture is ok but I lost myself into the tutorials here... Sometimes the links are broken, sometimes the programs don't work with my wow version sadly.
If you can give me a link to the tutorial you think I need to follow to complete my task, or simply teach me how to find a compatible version of the programs I need, you'll be my all time heroe =)
For sure I'm not the first guy who tries to do it, but it's a pain to do it on a 2.4.3 (burning crusade) version ^^'
Thanks a lot for your help and for everything on this forum. It helped me a lot to understand how wow is working :)
spik96:
At the moment, you cannot edit a BC model with Blender. However, you can edit a Warlords of Draenor model with M2Mod Redux then convert the model to BC.
Scynic:
Thanks a lot Spik ! Then I just need to find a WoD mpq to extract the file I need :)
Impossible isn't french, it's wrong this time ha ha
spik96:
You do not. CASCExplorer allows you to download only the file you want from the WoD client.
Scynic:
I wasn't knowing CASCexplorer, it's incredibly useful !
Thank you for all, now I just have to follow the tutorials here and I'm sure it'll be fine :)
Like I said in my 1st post, you're now my all-times heroe. Thank you so much !
