can i make wow with UDK engine

<< < (8/9) > >>

Morfium:
I for my part stayed in wow because of the people that played it. I even liked the old graphics, because they look cute. :)
It always reminded me of playing wc3 just... nearer to the ground. Well maybe my taste in graphics is odd... ^^
I left wow because most of the people I liked to play with went away and only the idiots seemed to stay.
Also the constant nerfing of everything made it worse. When I started an epic item was ... well epic. When I quit everybody bought their epics from vendors like I bought water in vanilla.
And the story of warcraft in general is pretty awesome. :) I loved the novels and how everything is intertwined. Now blizz seems to just slay every single villain (which most had a tragic and long past which I loved to read and mostly could unerstand) there is. When they announced Illidan would be a killable Boss I thought the lore would die. And well... for me it kinda did. I always felt the alliance and horde where the bad guys. XD

That's because I liked the idea of maruum. I never had a problem with the old wrath graphics. But the idea of a fantasy world created by nice community was (andstill is) very appealing. And of cause the story telling and the masses of possibilities that come with all warcraft lore being deleted (As much as I love that lore).
I would even love the idea if it was with super nintendo graphics. ;) Preferably secret of mana 3. ;P

Sina:
I have to agree with Morfium at most parts.

The grafics are... not very nice, but it's kinda "timeless style". Maybe, cause i played it so long. The things I miss are the people too. You had to talk to people for going in an instance, etc. But this is just the old discussion about vanilla-wow (:

One thing I really, REALLY hate about wow is, that it's very static. Static animations, the whole fight-system, you can't move/change anything in the world, collision, etc. The more I know about WoW and its engine, the less it feels like a real world. And once seen dynamic animations, etc. in games like mount and blade or overgrowth, and you get a little sad looking at wow :/

Hmmm:
Now, let's be mature, if there will be a vanilla with same gameplay but with graphics from cinematics, will you play it again? For me the answer is YES, i want to have same feeling of playing, even same controls and anymations if my character, mounts and items wil have an extreme polished look like in cinematics. Or...if stormwind can have these graphics:

oops i meant these:

and ofc, i preffer to pay monthly subscription for that.

Steff:
That's because I liked the idea of maruum.

The problem with Maruum is that many people like the problem but the most dont just join or help.
I do much ingame tours with people and most times the love it and want to help but I never nere something after this walktrue. There are exceptions but not much.

Hmmm:
I also like his ideea BUT he is using the same engine, styles and graphics so is not big difference, is same as a new expansion, since Mists of Pandaria is comming, there is no point losing time makeing another one by the fans.
I appreciate his work a lot but since there is nothing changed in the game beside the world i see no point in makeing it. Instead doing that he can just import entire wow on UT engine and change the look, that can be something interesting.
