No one sued him I'm not going off of what he posted I'm going off of what him and I have talked about.

It was a lot worse then a sue lets just leave it at that.

Well ok lol, but for the sake of this thread and people interested in such legal matters about their server maybe you could share some advice, guidance .p you are in a forum lol

A good step forward is to host your server in a place like Russia or the UK if you host it in the USA your chances of getting busted just increase.

Well that's bad advise. The UK is probably one of the worst places you an host it.

Honestly OP, it really doesn't matter. Blizzard are not going to give one shit about your small little server. It costs them a lot of money to take somebody to court. You won't be a target unless you start making significant money, in which case why are you doing this in emulation.

PayPal are just a shit company in general. If you make any significant money on that, even through charitable work, they can seize it and fuck you over for a long time, and it is a long process to get it back.

Use a more credibly provider and you won't have issues in that regard.

Agreed, I said UK just because of what's going on over there but yeah like Stoneharry said unless you make money and become a threat it's highly unlikely for blizzard to go after you, I also agree try to use a different company that doesn't change their terms without letting you know...

Skarn:
I strongly suggest hosting everything in Russia because Blizzard doesn't have their LLC or smth like that registered here, so they cannot sue you even if they want to do it.

Steff:
But blizzard sell wow in ru?  Is there no basic copyright law in russia?

Amaroth:
I think that bigger problem is that companies from US aren't exactly welcomed in RU today :D. So noone will get dragged by Blizzard to court from there.

Alastor:
-You can have your own server with ALLOWED Donation but you just cant force ppls to donate like blizz do by those " acc payment "
. about patches ? i have no idea
i tried to find some opinions from blizz but "ResultsGiven() = 0"
i have no idea about how is Blizz acting about our custome patching etc :?
