[SHOWOFF] [WIP] WoW TRUE revenant
(1/3) > >>
SirFranc:
Hi, i'm learning how to use maya and 3ds, and i've came up with the decision of making a new creature model in wow, the actual Revenant from Wc3, that was if you recall, awesome. That's what i've come up so far... i'd like advice and hints about how to improve it :P
NOTE: has no textures, no gloves and no weapon/armor yet i plan to give him attachment points so he can use actual weapons and shields I would copy-paste animations from the Fire Revenant model
Jack:
Very nice :) Hope you got more talent with texturing than I do :ugly: Is it unwrapped already? (Shouldn't pose much of a problem since the armor is pretty basic in meanings of shape so you should be able to use the built in auto-unwrappers of max if you select the parts wisely) Did you model all of that from scratch?
TheBuG:
It is pretty awesome indeed! But I didn't really mind the current revenants used by blizzard, but I admit yours is more like the WC III ones, with the armor! Good job :).

Jack:
In my opinion it's looking much better than the WoW ones, but that's because it's more my taste.
I definitly could help you with 3dsMax' UV Editor if you want to, but anyways: unwrapping is quite a bitch but once you've learned the basics you'll never have to learn big stuff about it on top of that.
Also: http://www.unwrella.com/download/ I bet you know how to get your hands on the full version but anyways, go take a look at the trial, once you're able to intuitively define the right seams unwrapping most models really is just 2-3 clicks with Unwrella. Really damn handy :) (Although you should def. learn to be able to work without Unwrella because sometimes doing it by hand is faster and more accurate from what I experienced)
