Skarn:
Well, again stupid discussions and flames about earning money from private servers. I've already said this millions of times on Ownedcore. It's possible but heavily depends on the country you live in.
I live in Russia and here people run huge private servers (50k and more online on all the realms. They have barely legal donation systems and Blizzard cannot do anything with them except threatening as long as the server hosted in Russia and the admin is Russian.
This system should work for most countries except I think some European ones and USA. If you don't sell items or anything for real money it works. By donating to the server people give a server some money, and the server gives them some kind of local money (bonuses, points, christals, whatever you like). Having this type of unreal money players can buy items or anything else you want them to buy, and it works in most cases because players buy unreal goods (in-game ones) for unreal money that cannot be used anywhere else except your server (that means that they're not real). If you make your players use PayPal for buying items, you will most likely get sued or at least persuaded to close your server.
Speaking about earning money, modcraft community is not dedicated to making private servers that can be profitable for you. That's only your choice. We are just a community of modmakers who like modyfing the client and creating zones, models, tools or serverside content.
To sum up, if you want to earn money - do it but try to use the safest way. In addition, try to host your server in Russia or other country that is safe for that. Well, a kind of profflink for you: wowcircle.com (I am not advertising it) . It exists for about 10 years and works fine with a huge online. That's because of their right money politics and the location of their servers.
P.S. Please guys, no more flame on this theme here. Everything I told you is properly tested by Russian private server admins for years. Good luck.

Still looking for motivated people.
Barbz:
Added team member Mineos (C++ developer).
Still recruiting for the positions listed, especially people with client editing skills. Also recruiting a web designer (unless you're coding and designing the website).

--- Quote from: "Barbz" ---Why are you all speaking of this here, in this particular thread ?
...
Please, everybody, make a thread about this and stop answering there. I can even create it for you if it's too hard, just ask me in PM. --- End quote ---
You should be grateful for the extra exposure and free bumps.
Barbz:
Miaxos joined the team (LUA developer - core and client).
Still looking for SQL developer, C++ developers in priority. The banner is going to get updated very soon, with the release of the website.
