Anyone ever made mods for second life before?

During a conversation with an old buddy of mines that I've not talked to in over 7 years mentioned that there was business in the Second Life market for modders looking to make some actual money for their visual mods, anyone on here ever looked into that before?

Is Second Life still a thing? I tested it once and it was stupid and boring as hell. Even the graphics were total crap. :D

It's still a thing, I used to play it about 10 ish years ago back then making models for it was much harder/annoying but right now it's really easy and it's a fun game if you're into real RP you can own your own island in the world basically how it works and you can set permissions for it and spawn your own models or presets it's an online 3d modeling program really.
The graphics are only as good as the people that made the model/texture, Second Life over all is really good for feedback and testing models in a game env.
You can also make money in many ways in that game lol many..many...ways....
P.S
You can also import/create special effect aka spells.

Think of it like Gaia, a Chat room system that's based in a digital world and you can make of it what you want by either participating in things or spending real life currency.
I used to know a bloke that pretty much digitized almost his entire house in the game, no idea how much money he paid 3D modelers to recreate various sections of his house, but it wasn't exactly a low balling deal. But it was during the 1.0 phase of the game engine, it's at 3.0 now and can support way higher polygon models than previously, at 1.0, we had a max of 1200 triangle polygons max, and that was the high end, most things were between 100-400 triangles for custom stuff.
At the time I couldn't accept any sort of payment so everything I had made was for free, though it seems all the 1.0 and 2.0 stuff from the marketplace was removed, I don't see my old friend's stuff on there nor my old stuff.

Looking around for the original stuff and they don't seem to get very much attention. Seeing a lot of ripped/re-purposed mods from other games on the marketplace too, many things I totally know that weren't made for SL to begin with, like various MikuMiku Dance mods.
