Concept Map for next project.

Jack:
Probably because one reason why this modding scene fails more than a blind person in drawing a picture is that people are selfish, ignorant, epically unskilled and overstrain themselves in dimensions sane persons cannot even grasp.

A statistic I really like bringing forward the last weeks is the following:
There have been around 50-100 projects like this started, with all this giant content and epic shit and whatnot, yet there have been 0 (zero) finished.

While the ratio of project failures is indeed mathematically defined (it's also 0) I am more and more thinking that the stupidity of the people neither noticing nor trying to change this ratio probably isn't in fact mathematically defined.

ToyokaX:
Indeed, I also noticed recently, while surfing on ModDB that more than half of all mods were never released (thus unfinished) so this goes far beyond just WoW editing, it's a universal habbit amongst "modders" in general, where only a moderate few manage to break.

[G]hositt:
And exactly this is the reason for that.

Manners

mind them, and people will help out, untill then. I'll work alone. Afterall I'm not getting paid for anything, so i'm actually free to do exactly what I want :)

Modding a game isn't as much a prestige job as making an actual game, so raging because there is no completely modded versions of wow, is more childish then crying over the loss of an icecream.

schlumpf:
BUT MAH ICECREAM!

This might look like a nice idea, my son, but seeing that this is about as big as about 1200 ADTs being more than one Blizzard continent.. Even with WoWEdit, this would be a task of at least a few months in a team. Alone, you may need years and won't finish but end up redoing half of the ADTs thousand times due to tools fucking up. But hey, have fun. Moar to laugh about.

I don't really like the tone you're adressing here but since I'm a master of it I'll happily follow along.

Childish?  :udumb: Golly, your brain must be in a lot of agony thinking of such humongous bullshit. You can't just throw a bunch of words together hoping they're giving any sense, no, that's not how it works.
No seriously, talking about childish: bragging about "omg wow looks at mez I'm gonna do aaaaaaall this kewl stuffz!!1" and then implying in a post following shortly after that you're never going to finish it and that there's nothing bad about it....don't you think that's a bit childish? Nay, I dare to say it: moron-ish? Or do I really have to use the word "attention whore" in that case?
Let me give you another example, one that does not involve yourself, maybe then you'll understand the dimensions of your ignorance:
It's as if I would say my next project is building a space ship. Real size, fully functional.
Even though I possess advanced technical knowledge and the intelligence to actually being able to work myself into the matter within the next decades of years, every sane person will reply "You're an idiot/ignorant/overextending yourself/attention whore" (you choose) -with what they're absoluetly right. It will only be a waste of time and there is absolutely no chance I will finish it, especially on my own. See the analogy?

Back to a more normal tone then:

We gave you advice, because of the many failures we have seen and even been part of, we can speak out of experience and we just assumed you would maybe actually want to achieve something rather than just being all talk.
All you did was acting like a smart-ass with absolutely no dedication.

If you rather want to play baby-levels please go to other forums, maybe there you will gain the admiration you "deserve" by 12-year olds unable to properly judge with absolutely no sense of artisimal consience.

You're here with mostly adults -with probably more experience and skill- so you better start behaving yourself and acting accordingly (including no more lists of oh-so-great stuff you're never going to finish - act rational, be realistic about what you're doing).

We don't have to continue this discussion the way it's heading, but if you want to it will have been your descision.
You may also start living up to a bit higher standards and be well welcome in this community.
