[QUESTION] Making NPC Skins available for selection via DBC?

(1/2) > >>

Alune:
Hello, I've recently gotten back into modding and I decided to create a topic in regards to the many many npc skins that aren't selectable, I was wondering if there is something else I have to do in order to get the skin to show up in the character creation? I've already changed the flag of it in CharSections.dbc to 0x11, but it doesn't show up when creating the char.

So I was wondering if there's anything else I have to edit? This is the WoD Client btw.

Sorry if this is the wrong category. x)
Also if I use wowparser2 for it, it ends up being the flag 17, why? Nonetheless I tried both and still got nothing.

In Pre-Wotlk simply use WPE pro to select the skins. More information here :

In Wotlk unfortunately, they added a filter that makes other client see you as skin 00 if you have an unusual skin. So far no one has been able to turn this off.

So what you need to do if you want these skins available in Wotlk is to turn them into proper skins, you have to cut out the face, and pelvis. And add that to the skin, then change it's skinid in Charsections.dbc to the same as normal skins.

Before WoD, it would be easy as changing the flags, in WoD you need to add faces and underwear for every single skin you want to appear in the character creation screen.

No, this is also required in Wotlk.
If you do not do it, you'll crash upon selecting said skin.
