That is always the case with open-shoutboxes.

There are negatives as you have highlighted, but there are also positives.

I personally just liked being able to post, and watch others post, little things they have accomplished that they don't want to go and actually post about. Also the linking to other innovative implementations.

There are some people that are lazy to make a new thread, and the shoutbox was the greatest opportunity. (Oh,  I can't be the only one doing that).

Are you saying that because some people are lazy, we all should suffer?

I am with stoneharry on this. Many accomplishments are not worth the time to make a thread about, but they are accomplishments to be shared none the less.

Also, sometimes it's good to throw a small idea out there and get some quick feedback. I checked the shoutbox a lot more frequently than anything else, because it didn't take up much time to check while I was busy. Then when I get the chance I would check the threads.

Shruik:
Could you please tell me which shoutbox plugin you used? I´d like to try out several things that will maybe make it possible to easily implement it in the future without those problems ;)
