Hi there !
So I made my first custom model, as some of you may have seen on the chatbox. It's complete now, it has custom collisions, so I thought I would share it. It has no animations, but for a road it's pretty normal <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
It really fits my own zone, so I don't know if it will be useful to someone else, but in case, it's available <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
I used Blizz unmodified textures, so they should be already in 3.3.5 files. However, to avoid any problems I've included them in the zip file with the right relative path from the model.
There's also the mdx if some of you want to play with it and change the model.

The edges are a little different than what's on the video, I had a corrupted vertice in each angle (copy/paste) and I had to redo them tonight.
Normally the model should work fine in 3.3.5, at least on my install it's all ok. If you have problems with it let me know.
Happy downloading !

Wow, nice job. :)
Mdlvis on the screen?
-
Congrats, Still a amazing job on getting that and that tool to work
-
Thank you :)
Yes, it's mdlvis on the screenshot.
-
Nice to see that the custom m2 convertion reaches more and more users ;D
Very intresting topic. Maybe ill look into that thing one day too ;D
-
Very nice :D I want to create some models like you, but i think it's very hard :(
So, good job :p
-
Thank you ^_^
Actually it's simpler than I thought, at least for non-animated things.
I'm making a tutorial describing the method I used, I check every step and I post it.

Sounds cool! :D Waiting for it (:
-
very cool, it's nice that someone is also doing own doodads in MDLvis:)
one question: how did you do a collision?
1) via CollisionAdder.exe
2) transferred from other models Blizz
3) Made as something else ...

With her own collision adding tool. She released it in the tools forum.

Very awesome... I might have to give this a try, seeing such nice results.

Yeah, get the tracks and the train ingame and fill it with life.

@Pinkhair3d : Thank you for the compliment. And I really love your artwork/videos btw <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
---------------
I made a second model <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
I needed a path to link a house and a "darkshoredock.m2", so I added some kind of wooden bridge in between. I'm not too happy about the number of vertice (probably too many), but it looks ok ingame... and it made UV mapping so much easier.
I used the same method I described in the tutorial to make it. The texture is a Blizzard one, the same as the dock.

And the download link if you want to use/tweak it (M2, texture and mdx) :

not bad, especially considering how "long" you're working with MDLvis :)
-
I like it. Good job.
-
Thank you <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
-------------------------
I've just made another one ^^
I needed a kind of platform, that shared the same theme as the road. I think I'll add some other m2 in the corners, lights or something like that...
Anyway, if some people want to play with it, here it is :

Nice Job, might try and make some huge objects like this.
-
I have a small request, could you make a straight version of the road? (:
There is no road model, and it could be very useful for many projects.
I really like the models so far.
-
You can take the road, open it in mdlvis, remove the vertices of the "turn" = straight road :)
That's here for help about how to do it : viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1060 (http://modcraft.io/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1060" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
