Problems with Worldediting (the map won't show up in Noggit)

(1/4) > >>

ssantema:
Hi,

I got problems with worldediting. Noggit won't show my costum map in the menu. I did the tutorial five times and from the beginning and it haven't worked. I also tried to add a new race but that doesn't work neither. I am certain i do something wrong but I got no clue what.  Noggit works fine with the other maps, that already existed. I save the costum patches as patch-4.MPQ and patch-enGB-4.MPQ and organized them into world>maps>Test and DBFilesClient. I saved the Dbc file as Map.dbc. I uploaded the Wdt and Adt.  I also posted the files in my wow folder Wow>world>maps>test>test.wdt etc. and Wow>DBFilesClient>Map.dbc.

I use:

-Ladik's MPQ editor.
-Tallis
-Noggit 3 (rev 104)
- Adt Adder
-Windows XP
-Arcemu
- Patch 3.3.3

I think that's all, Please tell me if i missed something that I should have described.

Thanks for reading and merry Xmas ( a bit early :P)

Steff:
You must have a wdt file for every map you load. And older version had an bug that it can load wdts only from patch. Jus put only the wdt files with the right path into a patch mpq and place it in your wow  data folder.

ssantema:
I did what you said. I made a new patch with world>maps>Test.wdt  tried it in several locations etc but it still won't show up. Eluo also posted a screen how to get there without Noggit and when I .worldport to the place wow crashes.

Error:

--- Code: ---ERROR #134 (0x85100086) Fatal Condition
Program: C:Program FilesWoWWow.exe

CMap::SafeOpen() failed ÷“U

--- End code ---

So it might not be a Noggit problem.

btw Thanks for your quick response.

Steff:
worldmapsnameOfTheMapnameofthemap.wdt
In the same place as the adts.

But what do you want. Edit in noggit or go ingame to your map?
That are two things.
If you want to visit ingame you need also an entry in your MySQL DB and restart your privat server.

ssantema:
I did everything in the tutorial including MySQL Db editing etc. and restarted the server. I saved all files in a custom patch and placed in my data folder. I want to do both, I want to edit it in Noggit and after it I want to be able to visit it in Wow. When I got the time I will double check the MySQL database.

The .MPQ file:
patch-5.MPQ>world>maps>Test>Test.wdt and all .adt
patch-enGB-5.MPQ>DBFilesClient>Map.dbc
