Title: Noggit "Realmlist" Bug, And shutting down
Post by: Legend on January 10, 2013, 04:14:30 pm
So as I saw I am not the first one to have this problem, Its my first time with Noggit, and I am not experienced with it in no way. I will jump right at the problem.

Basically, Noggit starts up, white screen on it, shuts down in a second or two. The Config looks like this.

#This is a config file template. To use it rename into noggit.conf and set your options
#Edit this to your WoWFile!!!
Path = D:wow335

#Edit this to your Project-Directory and uncomment if you want to use it!
ProjectPath = E:wow335Noggit Project

#Set this to the file where you will import models from (the model viewer log for example :) )
ImportFile  = E:WMV_Binary_v0703_Win64WMV 0.7.0.4 MoP Testbuild 2 32-bitWMV 0.7.0.4 MoP Testbuild 2 32-bituserSettings

#The far clipping value. Set to 2048, 3072, 4096 etc. for a further look. Higher values need more 3d power.
#1024 is the standard value and will be taken if you do not set this value.
FarZ=2048

And the log

1 - (Noggit.cpp:130): Noggit Studio - SDL 1.2
753 - (Video.cpp:204): [Debug] GL: Version: 4.2.0
753 - (Video.cpp:205): [Debug] GL: Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
753 - (Video.cpp:206): [Debug] GL: Renderer: GeForce GTS 450/PCIe/SSE2
753 - (Noggit.cpp:87): Using config file.
754 - (Noggit.cpp:257): Game path: D:wow335
754 - (Noggit.cpp:261): Project path: E:wow335Noggit Project
872 - (Noggit.cpp:308): [Error] Could not find locale directory. Be sure, that there is one containing the file "realmlist.wtf".

My graphic card is an Nvidia GTS 450, I have Direct-X 11, Newest Drivers for the Nvdia and Visual Studio 2010 Runtime.

Also I'd like to note that I am using Noggit - NoggitSDL1.2

I have read the guide, and the installation part, and read other threads but nothing seems to fix it yet.

I'd appreciate help, and thanks in advance.

No dont edit the config !!!!

Clean out your path.

Path = D:WoWModdingClient335aNoggitWow 3.3.5

Move all files form WoW 3.3.5 to Client335aNoggit and delete the folder then.

Okay did that, still not working, neither Noggit nor WMV.
The log says the same except the Path was changed.

Attach files instead of posting links.
In the end, you need one locale folder in Data, which contains a realmlist.wtf. Just create that file in any locale folder you have.

Possibly no "full control" for your user over the folder ? Try to set full control over the folder for your user.
Title: Re: Noggit "Realmlist" Bug, And shutting down
Post by: Legend on January 18, 2013, 04:34:18 pm
Nope, did it on all possible files and folders, Also made sure there's no read only, and all of the files have User Full control.

By the way, WMV says that My version of Wow is not supported, And that i should update. But I am sure my wow version IS 3.3.5.

I have one more problem thought, most of the things are on German, in Noggit. Zone names, Settings and so on.
Title: Re: Noggit "Realmlist" Bug, And shutting down
Post by: Steff on January 19, 2013, 01:07:53 am
It is german because you use german DBCs ?

Hmmm I don't think so.

Post by: Steff on January 19, 2013, 12:38:03 pm
Noggit load all text from the DBCs so.....

I have the same problem and none of the things above helped me.

0 - (Noggit.cpp:130): Noggit Studio - SDL 1.2
687 - (Video.cpp:204): [Debug] GL: Version: 2.1.8545 Release
687 - (Video.cpp:205): [Debug] GL: Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
687 - (Video.cpp:206): [Debug] GL: Renderer: Radeon X1300/X1550 Series
687 - (Noggit.cpp:257): Game path: D:GamesPublic Test Realm
687 - (Noggit.cpp:261): Project path: D:GamesPublic Test Realm
703 - (Noggit.cpp:308): [Error] Could not find locale directory. Be sure, that there is one containing the file "realmlist.wtf".

This is the log.

Path = D:GamesWrath of the Lich King
ProjectPath = D:GamesWrath of the Lich KingProject
#ImportFile  = Path to Model Viewer log file
FarZ=1024

I've tried renaming the conf file to both noggit_conf and noggit.conf ( as said in the manual ) but neither worked and my noggit always tries to open Public Test Realm client and I have no idea how to fix that.

aha it says you don't have a realmlist .wtf
here's mine
http://nonameeeddd.weebly.com/uploads/1 ... lmlist.wtf (http://nonameeeddd.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/0/7/12073487/realmlist.wtf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

go to you're wow folder place it in Data-enUs [or whatever local you got] and paste it there.

Post by: schlumpf on May 11, 2013, 07:35:02 pm
Just add an empty file named realmlist.wtf. Content does not matter. It is just used for locale detection.

Post by: Solarion on May 11, 2013, 08:25:31 pm
Oh Schlumpfy :P I said the above things dont work. I managed to fix it anyway. In the wiki tutorial there its written that config file must be noggit.conf in the conf file itself it said it has to be noggit_conf

in fact it has to be simply noggit for it to detect it. :P
Title: Re: Noggit "Realmlist" Bug, And shutting down
Post by: schlumpf on May 11, 2013, 09:30:14 pm
The config file has to be named noggit.conf.
Noggit needs a realmlist.wtf.
What is supposed to be easy to detect?
Title: Re: Noggit "Realmlist" Bug, And shutting down
Post by: Solarion on May 11, 2013, 10:14:45 pm
Nope. The conf file has to be named noggit otherwise noggit doesnt detect it. i am in noggit right now. do you dare argue against a fact?

also the realmlist wasnt what caused my problem. the conf file and it alone

Yes Bernd is right.  You copied the wrong folder.
Repeat this point with right one.

It needs to be named noggit.conf. Your operating system is hiding the .conf for you, thus you need to name it noggit. (as it is named noggit.conf.conf otherwise.)

I _do_ know what it does, and argue _for_ the fact. I wrote that code.

I also _know_ what you mean but I am also as _stubborn_ as you are and won't agree because when you say it must be named the majority of newbies ( which the tutorial is meant for ) will actually rename it like that while they shouldn't because the file is already a conf file and changing the name to .conf won't help.

Turn of the windows folder option
Don't show extentions  of known file types.
Then you will see that the file is named noggit. Conf. Conf
I expanded sdl 1.3 with som  log file messages that test all this basic mistakes.
