Noggit for Windows 8.1 64bit?
« on: November 15, 2014, 07:25:04 pm »
Hello there! My friend needs help. He has got  Windows 8.1 64bit and he has a problem with starting noggit. Every time he  starts it it tells him "Program stopped working". Can anyone help us to solve this problem? Or just noggit is not compactible with Windows 8.1?

There's no such thing as compatibility issues with Windows 8, it's the same as Windows 7.

Noggit is infamous for crashing whenever the hell it wants because it feels like it. You'll have to post the error log and the config if you expect any help. It could be anywhere from a typo to complete graphics card incompatibility.

Noggit only crash if you feed it with corrupted or uncomplete data.
Or if you load to much adts then you have ram build in.  Or set stupid admin or compatibillity settings.
I had no Single crash  now for over a year.

There really are graphics card issues though. Some cards it just doesn't work on and that's a fact. I've gone through many graphics cards since I first started using Noggit and I can promise you this.

Most it is a poor opengl support.  Some nividia cards and most intel onboard,  special the older 4000 series from older Notebooks.  Also a problem are Notebooks with 2 gfx cards as tehy dont turn to the good one if open gl is used.
You have to switch to always use the Performance one.  But then you loos akku runtime.

Thank you all for your replies, my friend has a newer computer so it is very possible that this graphic card does all of this.

Again thank you all  :)

The graphics card is not likely to be the issue as Steph basically just said.
